Chapter 3

Alexis:

Everyone except Brad was already in Mike's basement.

They seemed curious to hear what Rob had to say. I stayed in the background, since I knew anyway, and therefore preferred to stare at my boyfriend out of the corner of my eye.

Hopefully, Rob's confession would make things a little easier.

And I hoped he wouldn't freak out if he heard something going on between me and Chester.

I didn't want to put their friendship at risk, but I couldn't and didn't want to have to fight against my feelings either.

"Sorry, guys. Mom just wouldn't let me go." Brad said when he finally came up to us and rolled his eyes.

"It's alright." Rob muttered.

Brad sat next to him and looked at him like everyone else.

"So, Robbie, what have you got to tell us?" Joe finally wanted to know.

My brother took another deep breath before revealing his greatest secret.

"I'm gay."

Mike's and Chester's jaws dropped almost simultaneously.

Dave and Joe looked surprised.

Only Brad acted casually and put one hand on his shoulder.

"It's cool, buddy. It doesn't change who you are. I am completely behind you." He said with a smile on his face.

Rob had tears in his eyes and a smile on his lips.

"Thanks, man." He said, hugging the curly head.

"Not for this." Brad replied to his hug.

I smiled because I knew secretly that Brad's opinion was most important to him.

My boyfriend and his best friend seemed to have caught something again.

"Wow. Uh.. I'm surprised. I really didn't expect you to do that." Mike said and scratched the back of his head.

I rolled my eyes and threw one of the seat cushions at him. "Shut up, Kenji."

Thereupon the half-Japanese sulked.

"I-I don't have a problem with that! I was just really surprised. Of course it's nothing bad, buddy." Chester said, and Dave and Joe agreed.

Rob exhaled with relief and smiled at me.

"I told you they wouldn't kill you for this." I said with a smile and kissed him on her cheek.

"I know. Thank you, Alexis." He replied.

"But while we're at confessions.." I said, looking at Chester.

He looked at me surprised and questioningly.

"Chester and I are together. We been doing this for three months." I dropped the bomb.

Now everyone, including Chester's jaw dropped.

"You did it. You.. You really did it." My boyfriend stuttered and made me smile again.

"Anybody else want to get rid of something?" Brad asked suspiciously when he got caught again.

"Seriously? I was your first crush and then just a few years later you get together with my best friend?" Mike immediately complained.
