Mike, Lucas, and Max are friends, and El, Will, and Dustin are friends both friend groups are at the beach. Mike is a third wheel and El feels left out on this particular day. The two make friends and notice that the small tattoos on their wrists were similar, same font and color as each other's, somehow having the opposite person's initials on them. The kids are older again like eighteen. Slight fluff slight spice.

Third Person

Mike sat bored watching the couple in the water have fun, he felt quite lonely.

Eleven had been struggling with keeping up as the boys left to rent rafts. El offered to go with them, but with the number of people that were leaving their towels unattended and were being picked up, she decided to stay. The line was quite long, and Will went to keep Dustin company. So again, she felt quite lonely.

As the sun beat down on the two, El trying to get the little bit of tan in before the two got back. Meanwhile, Mike had started walking around to get his mind off of being lonely.

It was days like this one that Mike felt lonely. Normally the couple that Mike was friends with, would try to lay off of each other as much as possible, but as the relationship progressed, the simple task seemed to be harder and harder. Mike eventually decided that the two could be all couply, just no more than they would do in public.

El loved her two friends, but sometimes she wished she had a friend that was a girl. The two boys became so close to her, she was like a guy to them. Sometimes she wishes she could sit down on the couch and watch a nice movie and cuddle with a boy. Will likes to cuddle, but El feels weird cuddling with her best friend like that. Dustin's just Dustin, he won't act any differently with El in the room or not, it could be cute, but El feels otherwise after years of dealing with it.

Eleven took off her sunglasses to see Will and Dustin at the very back of the line.

She glanced up to see a boy stumble and fall near her blanket.

She scrambled to her feet to help him up.

"Are you okay?" She asked the boy.

"Yeah, I'm fine. I'm Mike."

"I'm Eleven, but I go by El."

"Well, where are your friends, and I presume boyfriend, El?"

"My friends are in line to rent floats. I'm actually single, but what about you pretty boy. A pretty boy like you must have a jealous girlfriend right about now," El inquired.

"Well, sweet thang, I'm single too, and if you wanna play that card,  I must inform you about my friends making out in the ocean currently."

El glances to the area Mike is referring to.

She nodded, "Well, I'm gonna get back to my tan."

She laid back down on the towel.

Mike looked at the girl on the towel, he couldn't help but be intrigued by the girl.

El sighed and looked up at the boy, also intrigued.

"Sit down," she deadpanned.

As Mike sat down, El couldn't help but notice the 'E.J.H.' tattoo on his ankle.

She just decided to ignore it.

"So, Mike, how long have you lived here?"

"My whole life, one day I hope to get out of this place."

"I feel the same way. What's your biggest nightmare?"

"Losing someone I love. One time I almost lost my older sister. We thought we hated each other until that day. Now I don't think I have a friend any closer to me than her."

"That's my greatest fear too. I almost lost my friend, the small one in line from earlier, he was this small sweet boy who was so loud, but not obnoxiously loud, now he's quiet and I feel like he's lost a piece of his soul."

"I- I know this is a bit personal, but have you ever had a boyfriend?"

"No, I've gotten close to people, and almost made it official, but never went anywhere, what about you pretty boy."

"No, I've had the same experiences, but as you are flirting, I imagine you have the same preferences as me right now."

"Maybe, but what might they be?"

"I don't know how to explain it, so can I show you?"

Eleven nipped at her bottom lip, "Uh, sure."

The boy cupped her cheeks lightly and put their lips together.

The girl, on the other hand, reacted without surprise, but oddly was comfortable.

Both kids in the pair felt as though they had been together for longer than thirty minutes.

Mike's lips separated from Eleven's.

"Who taught you how to kiss like that?" El asked Mike.

"I don't know El, who taught you how to be so beautiful?"

El smirked, feeling so comfortable with this guy.

She looked at the boy sitting on the ground in front of her.

She cupped his cheeks and connected their lips once more, this time things got more heated. However, a thought popped into her mind, 'our tattoos!'

"Mike," El said as they separated.

"Yeah," he whispered slightly out of breath.

"What are the initials on your tattoo?"

"Oh, I forgot about all of this. They are E.J.H. I guess we aren't soulmates," he said disappointedly.

"My name is Eleven Jane Hopper," She whispered, with a smile on her face.

"What are yours?" Mike whispered, hoping he wouldn't get excited about anything bad.

"M.W."

"I'm Mike Wheeler," Mike said and picked her up.

She smiled, "I guess we are soulmates."

Mike sat her in his lap, "Yeah I guess we are."

El laid her head on the crook of his neck, "How is it this moment, that I suddenly don't feel alone anymore."

"I don't know, but let's bridge our friend groups. We've been wanting to branch out anyway."

"Yeah, that'd be great."

The two groups found their respective friends and got to know each other, all the while, Mike and El cuddled, and acted like they had known each other for all their lives.
