"You're late."

I don't even know why I'm here.

You smiled cheekily at him. "I'm a big girl Sangy. I pick my own hours. Besides, it's not like I live here or anything." With a kiss on his cheek you walked around him and laid your overcoat over the empty chair before sitting down.

"Maybe you should."

"Awe, are you asking me to move in?" Amusement danced in your voice and, for a second, you could have almost swore Sangwoo blushed ever so slightly. "Nevermind that, but no thank you. I enjoy being an independent woman." Anger raged like a fire in his eyes. It was as if he took your independence as a challenge. But it didn't even last a millisecond; it could have been a figment of your imagination. You doubted it, however you couldn't deny it was a possibility there wasn't anything.

Silence.

"What did you buy?" He gestured to the grocery bag you had set on the table.

"Just a couple of things for our puppy."

He sighed. Although he agreed to keep Bum as a puppy, it was clear he found the idea of keeping a human as a pet ridiculous. It was the reason why you hadn't particularly pursued the subject matter until now. In many ways, this could be regarded as a test for him despite the innocent appearance of the motion.

"What did you get?" he finally asked. It was clear from his dismissive tone how he was going to respond. You pulled out the items onto the table.

"A collar, leash, food bowl - all with his name on them. They are the basic items for any puppy after all." You smiled innocently. To you, Bum was nothing more than an adorable puppy. People were far from your equals. Sangwoo and Seungbae were probably the only exceptions to your disdain of the race: both were merely objects of your interest.

"How stupid."

"Thank you," you cheerfully accepted his words as a compliment. "Now if you'll excuse me, I want to go put the collar on our puppy." You stand with the piece of black leather in hand. He grabs your arm.

"No."

"Why not?"

"It's stupid."

"No, it's kinky." You smirked as he scowled.

"I don't want to see it on him."

"Really? Or what?" There it was. That fire in his eyes returned. This time, you were certain of what you saw. His grip on your arm tightened. The hair on the back of your neck stood up. Everything told you to run but you stayed still, meeting his harsh gaze.

Silence.

He let go, sighing. "My house, my rules. If I see the collar on him, I'll tear it to shreds."

You almost smirked but caught yourself. Even a child could work around that rule. "Fine." you pretended to give in as you sat down. You knew better than to push the matter. He clearly wasn't going to move and if you persisted he may make his rules more restrictive.

Again, silence.

"Let's go to bed." He stood.

"The sun is nearly up. I have to go soon."

"You just got here. Why come all this way if you are going to leave as soon as you're here?"

You shrugged. You really didn't know. After your phone call with Seungbae, you couldn't sleep. Instead, you went to the store for the puppy things and then came here. "Work is work. I should go. Bye."

He nodded and followed you to the door. You were slightly worried he wouldn't let you leave, but all he did was close and lock the door behind you.
