Creak.
The door opened slowly. You silently sipped the hot drink you had made without a worry. Everything was back at its place. Footsteps approached the kitchen and there was your lover standing in the doorway.
"You're here early."
You smiled. He could be so charming sometimes. "Nice to see you too. I hope you don't mind I borrowed your clothes. I slipped in a puddle and got covered in mud, so I showered and stuck my clothes in the washer. They're probably done now." You stood. Sangwoo didn't budge from the doorway.
"I don't mind." It was clear from the look in his eye that was true. In fact, he seemed to enjoy it. Your lover approached you and wrapped his arms around you from behind. He kissed the crook of your neck and inhaled your scent deeply. One hand slipped up under the large T and cupped your bare breast. The other firmly held your hips against his so you could feel the growing tent in his pants. A small moan left your lips as his thumb glided over your hard nipple. You could feel liquid pool between your legs.
Suddenly, a feeling of being trapped overtook you and you were desperate to escape. Your heart raced in your chest. Your breath came out in quick pants. Only one thought remained in your mind: You had to stop this. You lifted up his arm and quickly ducked away.
"I can't," you said, your mind racing for an excuse as you caught your breath, "I have a lunch date with a friend in less than an hour."
"Date?" Rage flared up in his eyes. Is he jealous? you thought, confused. If he didn't love you, why would he be jealous? It didn't make sense.
"Yes, as in two friends hanging out." you quickly correct yourself.
Sangwoo instantly calmed down, but you could see he was still a little tense.
"I should go. I only stayed to say hi before disappearing with part of your wardrobe." You leaned to peck him on the cheek, only he decided to meet you with his lips. It was clear he was trying to convince you to stay. His arms reached for you but you stepped away. "Bye."
And then you were gone. You dashed out so quick you didn't even hear him reply. Only after you were down the street aways did you realize you forgot your shoes. Shit. Your feet were freezing on the cold concrete but there was no way you were going back. You didn't have money for a taxi either so walking home was your only option.
Or was it?
You still had your phone: you been playing on it until Sangwoo walked in and you put it in the pocket of his gym shorts. Pulling it out, you hesitated. Should you? How would you even ask? You pushed those thoughts down as you called him. He picked up after the third ring.
"Hello."
"Hey, Seungbae. Are you busy right now?" you asked, already embarrassed. You second-guessed your resolve of asking but it was now too late to go back.
"I'm on break so I have a few. Need something?" His voice seemed a bit irritated but you didn't feel it was directed at you.
"I was just hoping you'd be willing to give me a ride home. My boyfriend and I got in a fight. I dashed out with only my phone: no wallet or even shoes."
Suddenly he was on the offensive. "Did he hurt you?"
"No, it's just..." Your words ran out. "It doesn't matter. Can you give me a ride?"
"Yeah. Where are you?"
You glanced at the nearest signs and read them off to him. He nodded and hung up, letting you know he'd be there in a few minutes.
Seungbae didn't lie. Not more than ten minutes later he pulled up alongside the curb in a patrol car. He rolled down the window as he stopped. "Hey, you sure you're okay?"
You nodded and opened the door, slipping inside. "Yeah. Well, mostly yeah. It was still a fight so not everything is fine and dandy." Forcing a smile, you again imitate an air of innocence, though you weren't as sure as to why you were trying anymore.
Suengbae only hummed in reply and didn't press you for any more. A small blush dotted his cheeks when he saw your attire, especially when you moved and the sway of your breasts proved you weren't wearing a bra. He became redder and determinedly looked out the front windshield. You looked out the side window to hide your smile, and, possibly, a little red-not that you would admit it of course.
The car ride was mostly in silence. Thankfully it wasn't awkward: it was one of the benefits of being friends with an introvert. It also helped the ride only lasted a few minutes-Sangwoo's house was within walking distance of your house after all.
"Thank you," you said, getting out, but your eyes were not on Suengbae. No, it was trained on the white Prius parked in the driveway across the street.
"No problem." Suengbae gave you a smile as you glanced back at him for a moment. You almost blushed, feeling very girlish for a moment from how adorable and innocent that small smile was. But this was Suengbae giving you a smile, so it sadly only lasted a moment.
"Well, I'd invite you in, but I guess you should be going back to work. Hopefully, you won't be late because of me." You smiled brightly at him before adding some worry into your expression.
He glanced at the clock in the dashboard. "No, I'm fine for a moment. Can you get in?"
You realized what he meant: you didn't have your keys. "Yeah, there's a window that's always been stuck open. I'll just crawl in that way."
"You should really get that fixed; it's not safe."
You shrugged, "I know, but it's never been high on my priorities." He didn't seem to like your response, but you quickly changed the subject. "Well, I'd hate to keep you any longer. Bye."
He nodded and drove away. You sighed in relief. Now that one man was gone, you needed to get the other one gone as well. You turned to your house, walking up to the door. Granted, you didn't have your keys but you knew the door had already been unlocked by the intruder.
Silently, you entered your home. Hearing a noise in the kitchen, you make your way to it.
"Make yourself at home." you said, saying it a bit more sarcastically than you intended.
He turned around, holding something in his hand. "Sorry, I just saw you left your wallet and keys at my place as well as other belongings at my place. I figured you would need them so I decided to drop them off."
You zone out on what he was saying. He was almost as good as you at coming up with a lie on the spot. There was more to this and you both knew it. Walking over, you took the object from his hands, "Sangwoo, these are my birth control pills. Why did dropping off my stuff include these?"
Sangwoo took on a bashful appearance. Is this what you looked to others? You didn't like it at all. "I just knew you didn't have any of these at my place. I was hoping it'd make it so..." His voice drifted away, clearly trying to imitate embarrassment. You were no longer sure if this was real or a show of his, but it was safer assuming the latter.
"So we'd fuck as much as we used to?" You didn't expect an answer, and continued with a sigh, "You should go. I need to get ready." He nodded and went to kiss you but you quickly dodged it with a peck on his cheek. "Bye." You were really just done with him. You may be a bit harsh but all you wanted to do was to relax the only way you knew how to get over him. His presence was just frustrating and painful.
He smiled, trying to rub off the fact he was clearly just rejected. "See you later." Then he was gone, leaving you were alone. Being alone was a feeling you hadn't known before him, and you were desperate to get rid of it. So you moved to your bedroom, getting ready for a fun night.
