Yaaawwwn
The sunlight from my window wakes me up to a beautiful morning in my comfortable bed with a nice cuddly blanket and-
My bed??
I sit up and look around to find myself in my room in the cabin.Luna: How the hell did I get here? Wasn't I on a walk?
*Doorbell*
Luna: Who the hell is that?
I reluctantly leave my bed and retie my messy ponytail so I can look semi-presentable. I get to the bottom of the stairs and notice that the door has lines of royal blue light all over it, kinda like when the door opened when I arrived except they weren't purple. I kept staring at the door until the doorbell rang again.
Luna: C-coming
I go to the door and open it with the handle that I swear wasn't there when I arrived.
???: Hey there, stranger.
Luna: Jackson?! What are you doing here?
Jackson: Well I know you wanted some time to yourself and all and if you want me to go I can-
Luna: No! No, come in.
I close the door behind him still in disbelief .
Luna: I can't believe you remembered how to get here, it's been years.
Jackson: I have a good memory aaaand you sent me the address, remember?
Luna: I did? When?
Jackson: Last night, see.
He shows me his phone with texts from last night. I have no memory of texting him especially what he was showing me. Apparently I was homesick and texted him about it and he asked to come over and I sent him the address just like he said. Weird.
Luna: Gonna be honest, don't remember a thing but it's good to see you
Jackson: It's good to see you too and...what happened to your head?
I touched my forehead and it stung and along with the stinging came the memories of last night. I did go on a walk and then I followed that wolf and then there was the clearing and I-
Luna: I hit my head when I went for a walk yesterday, no big deal.
Jackson: At least let me take a good look at it first.
He walked toward me and started looking at my forehead before I could protest.
Jackson: Your right, for once, no big deal but that bruise will be there for a few days, how hard did you hit your head?
Luna: Thanks nurse Jackson and I don't know, didn't feel that hard.
Jackson: Well guessing by your outfit you haven't had breakfast yet.
Luna: Nope
Jackson: I can fix that.
Luna: Yes you can.
We both laugh and while Jackson starts getting breakfast ready I go back upstairs to get ready for the day. By the time I'm finished Jackson's cooking was practically yelling my name and my nose could smell it loud and clear. I made my way to the dining table to find a fresh plate of pancakes waiting for me with syrup, Nutella, and strawberries on the side. With a glass of milk.
Luna: Thanks.
Jackson: You're welcome.
He brought his plate and orange juice to the table and we both start to dig in.
Luna: How long did it take you to get here?
Jackson: Not long, I did have to leave early though so I could skip traffic.
Luna: Does Hunter know?
Jackson: No, he was already at work when I left.
Luna: Early Bird.
Jackson: As usual. What have you been up to?
Luna: Nothing much, just unpacking my bag and cleaning the house a bit. Then I went on my walk yesterday and now here you are.
Jackson: Sounds nice.
Luna: It has been. So how long are you gonna stay anyway?
Jackson: How long do you want me to stay?
Luna: Would it be bad if I said all summer?
Jackson: I was kinda expecting that answer. Which I why I packed extra.
Luna: You know me too well.
We both chuckle. Don't get me wrong having the house to myself is great and all but it was starting to get kinda lonely and I wasn't lying in the messages about getting homesick. It was nice having him around and I probably would have told him to come over before anyone else.
Luna: Now that we got that situated, you never told me why you were here, beside the texts.
Jackson: Right, I just wanted to make sure you were ok especially after the messages yesterday I thought you could use a little pick-me-up.
Luna: And you thought you were a good "pick-me-up"
Jackson: I made you food and checked your head, I haven't had the chance to "pick you up" yet.
Jackson takes our empty plates and cups to the kitchen and I stand up from my seat. He turns around with a curious look on his face.
Luna: Pick me up then.
Jackson: You asked for it.
He walks over and picks me up like a sack of potatoes.
Luna: HEY!
Jackson: What? You never said how.
Then he has the nerve to start tickling me. I start kicking and laughing and he's just getting a kick out of my hilarious pain. Between laughing I begin to plea.
Luna: Jackson!-- Stop-- STomach Hurts!
Jackson understands my message and puts me down and ruffles my hair.
Jackson: See aren't you feeling better?
I have to calm myself before I can say a word.
Luna: You are a complete jerk.
Jackson: But you feel better?
Luna: Yes you idiot I feel better.
Jackson: So I am a good pick-me-up
Luna: You're ok I guess.
Jackson: *sigh* I'll take what I can get stubborn.
We both laugh again unable to contain ourselves. The rest of the day we clean up the house a bit more and part of the backyard. By the time we finished the sun was starting to set and we were both on the couch in the living room watching tv.
Jackson: Hey I'm gonna shower.
Luna: Good idea, I'll take one too.
Jackson: Good cause you stink.
Luna: That's only because I was sitting next to you.
Jackson: Oh really?
Luna: Ya, so hurry up and shower.
I run up to the stairs before he could make a comeback and take a shower. I come downstairs when I finish and find him back on the couch with his pjs.
Luna: How did you finish before me?
Jackson: I'm fast and you're slow.
Luna: Whatever.
I join him on the couch and we continue to watch tv until we both eventually can barely keep our eyes open and decide to go to bed. The room seemed to be bigger then before and I cuddled my blanket closer trying to ignore the feeling of empty space around me.
