Sara had already gone to work which meant I had the house to myself, again.

Elm: Back to the book I suppose

I grab the The History of Myths and Legends off my desk and grab my sticky notes, pencils, and other things I might need and head outside to the backyard. I take my normal seat and open the book to where my bookmark is placed and find my spot.

"In the mist of this mighty war Humans had to learn how to tell if someone was a Vilks or Venatore. Both species could looked like humans if they didn't want to be found. Humans had to find ways to identify them so, they looked for different signs to determine which is which."

Elm: Ok dude can we just get on with this like, this is a lot of unnecessary blabbering *skims the page* There we go...

"Vilks were faster than normal humans. They have a very acute sense of smell and incredible hearing. This is cause of the wolf part of them. They also heal from injuries at a much quicker rate then humans. When they didn't want to look like a human they would let their wolf ears and tail show, heightening their senses even more."

Elm: Huh, interesting, doesn't say anything about their way of life though which sucks. Where is the Venatores section?
*flips to the next page* Found it

"No one knows how Venatores came to be but they are a bit harder to find. Venatores are the hunters of the world and go through intense training to achieve their senses to a Venatore standard. As you know, Venatores were very passionate about balance and when they discovered the Vilks they thought they were abominations to the Earth and how the war started."

Elm: Wait, that's it?! That's all your gonna say about this whole topic?! No dates or details, no this is the started and this is how it ended?! Great, just like every other book so far, no answers and more questions, how frustrating.

My phone rings and I pick it up without checking who it is, still focused on my book.

Elm: Hello?

Hunter: Hey Elm.

Elm: Hey Hunter, what's up?

Hunter: Is Sara home? I haven't been able to get a hold of her.

Elm: No she's at work aaaas usual.

Hunter: Oh alright, well when she gets home tell her to give me a call.

Elm: Ok no problem.

Hunter: Are you at the house?

Elm: Yup, why you wanna come over?

Hunter: I mean I have nothing better to do since Jackson went off on some kind of adventure and I finished work.

Elm: Well I don't mind.

Hunter: Ok, see ya later then.

Elm: Alright bye *click*

Hunter and I get along fine, he's real close with my sister and I swear they would date if they weren't such workaholics.

~20 Minutes Later~

*Doorbell*
Elm: And that should be Hunter

After marking the spot where I left off I go and open the door for Hunter.

Hunter: Hey.

Elm: Hey, come on in no need to act like a stranger.

He followed me out to the backyard.

Hunter: Woah kid, what you working on?

Elm: Just some research, I'm probably gonna get a different book though, this thing leaves me with more questions then answers.

Hunter: Well what are you researching? Maybe I could help.

Elm: Well currently I found a whole section on this war. Never heard of it but I guess someone wanted it that way seeing as I can only find information in really old history books, which might I add, have nut-jobs authors who can't add details to save their lives.

Hunter: Well what's the war called?

Elm: Nothing fancy just the Vilks & Venatore War.

Hunter: WHAT?!

He took the book from me and started flipping through the pages.

Elm: Sounds like you've never heard of it.

He hands me back the book not finding what he was looking for I guess.

Hunter: Sorry I just, my mom used to tell me about it and all and I didn't ever really believe her, I didn't think it was real. Do you think it's real?

Elm: I don't know, maybe. I still have a lot of questions that need to be answered before I can say what's real or not.

Hunter: Ya, I guess you're right. So what have you found so far?

Elm: Not much but I did find some ways to tell if someone was a Vilks or Venatore.

Hunter: Think you're any good at it?

Elm: Well seeing as I just learned about it no.

Hunter: I guess you got a point, well don't believe everything you find in those books okay?

Elm: Umm ok?

Hunter: How about we go play some Mario Kart or something, you seem to need a break.

Elm: Sure I guess, Why not.

I followed Hunter inside and started to set up the game.

Hunter: I think I left my phone outside, give me a second.

Hunter went out and came back inside rather quickly and we started are game although I did notice the glances Hunter would give the book through the glass doors, guess he's more curious then he tries to make out.
