Day of Mistakes ~ Jackson

I made a lot of mistakes in one day and only one of them was a good mistake.

I was sitting on the couch flipping through channels when my phone buzzed. I had a feeling I knew who it was so I answered the phone without looking at the name. (First mistake of the day.)

Jackson: Hey, bro.

Jay: Jackson.

I stopped flipping through channels and put down the remote.

Jackson: Well you're not Hunter.

Jay: Jackson, Luna's home.

Jackson: WHAT?!!

I stand up and walked outside.

Jay: I thought you said she was gonna tell you when she was leaving .

Jackson: That's what she said but I guess "she forgot".

Jay: Well she's home and we can't leave her there on her own.

Jackson: But that's what she said she wanted and you know how stubborn she is.

Jay: Jackson the longer she's out there alone the sooner they-

Jackson: I KNOW...... I know.....what do you want me to do?

Jay: I want you to do your job!

Jackson: Jay calm down.

Jay: I WOULD BE CALM IF YOU DID YOUR JOB AND WATCHED OVER MY SISTER!

*beeep*

Jackson: *sigh* I guess I'm taking the summer off.

I walked back inside when my phone buzzes again, this time it was a text.

Jay: I'm sorry, I'm just.....worried

Jackson: Ik it's alright

Jay: Jackson, they've been getting worst, they checked the house twice and it's only the third week in the month

Jackson: There're only allowed to check once every four weeks

Jay: My point exactly, and if they check again and they see Luna......

Jackson: They'll twist the story

Jay: More than that, they'll make a completely new one, Jackson we can't let that happen

Jackson: I know, I'll pack and head over early tomorrow, before the next patrol

Jay: Good

Jackson: Are you going to visit?

Jay: Of course! She's my little sister after all but I'll need you to be my excuse

Jackson: Figured

Jay: I have a meeting to get to

Jackson: k

Jay: Jackson, get to her ASAP

Jackson: I will I will, go to your meeting

I didn't expect an answer after and I didn't get one. I decided to check on the "forgetful" girl, so I texted her. (Second mistake. Should have called her.)

Jackson: Hey

Luna: Hey

Jackson: Wanna hang out today?

Luna: Don't you have work?

Jackson: Got the day off

Luna: Can't sorry, I'm busy today

Jackson: Oh what are you doing today?

Luna: Ummm stuff

Jackson: Stuff?

Luna: Ya, I gtg ttyl

Jackson: K

Wasn't gonna spill huh? Fine, I guess I'll just have to surprise you tomorrow. I finished packing my things and by the time I finish the sun starts to set. I decided to text her again. (Tried Mistake. Still should have called her.)

Jackson: Hey

I waited a few minuets but there wasn't a response. I texted her again.

Jackson: Heyyyyy, dummy, I know your not asleep

Still no response, now I was worried. I texted Sara, trying to hide the fact I was worried. (Fourth mistake.)

Jackson: Hey

Sara: Hey, hows it going

Jackson: Good, have you talked to Luna recently?

Sara: Well that was sudden but ya I talked to her a little while ago, she said she was taking a walk, why? Is everything ok?

Jackson: Ya ya, I just texted her but ig she doesn't have reception or something

Sara: Oh ok, if anything she'll see the text once she gets home

Jackson: Tru

Sara: I gtg ttyl

Jackson: See ya

A walk? Well that's not good, I doubt Sara knows that she's at the cabin either. The hell were you thinking Luna?

I grabbed my bag and headed out the door. (The good thing.)
