When the Night Fell in Love with the Moon

Chapter 3

Moon struggled up Mt. Lanakila. Usually, when you have a broken leg, you wouldn't climb a mountain. But Moon has duties as the Champion. She has to battle the people who actually managed to beat the Elite Four.

"Doctors orders? My left butt cheek. What do you mean no flying? How in the world am I going to climb a mountain?" Moon grumbled as she carefully climbed over a rock. "But the doctor never said I can be carried!"

Moon reaches inside her bag for her Alolan Raichu. "Raichu, use Psychic to carry me to the Pokemon League." Raichu looked at her like she was insane. "Now look here Mr. I-Float-To-Move-Using-Dope-Psychic-Powers. You can move easily. I cannot. Now see this leg? Do you think I can grab my crutches and climb up this stupid mountain?"

Raichu nods. Why that little... He starts laughing. "Raichu, sweetie, stop being a butt. Because if you don't, these homemade PokePuffs will disappear." Moon takes out Raichu's share of PokePuffs. He freezes. Moon smirks. I got him right where I want him.

Moon selected a specially decedent PokePuff, she put in the effort of slowly chewing and eating it. Raichu stared back. "Holy shit! This is the best! Madam Puffs' Poke Puffs are so soft and sweet, and oh so delicious!" Moon moaned around the dessert. Raichu's cheeks twitched. Moon reached for another just for Raichu to squeak. The PokePuffs floated towards him, but Moon grabbed them out of the air. "Nope. Not today Mr. Electric-Cheeks. You'll get these back when you carry me up this dang mountain."

Half an hour later, Moon and Raichu reached the top. Raichu carefully placed her on solid ground. Moon tossed the Puffs towards Raichu. He squeaked and grabbed them before they fell. "Merry Christmas!"

Raichu huffs. Moon hears a roar and looks around to see a familiar boy give its Charizard a PokeBean. She looks at her Raichu that is greedily eating its PokePuffs. "C'mon you big doofus. We're going to say hi to a little friend." Well, not so little anymore.

As much as Moon can, since Raichu just floats, they sneak up to the Charizard. Commence Shadow Sneak. Phase 1: Position. Moon shifts her feet and moves her hands like a Greninja. "Moon, give up already."

"Nani? How did you know?" Moon whined. She slumped around Charizard, facing Gladion's back. Charizard roared and took off, leaving Moon, Raichu, and Gladion at the front of the PokeCenter. "Moon, you do this every time. Plus, I heard your crutches from miles away. How were you planning to-"

Moon bounced on top of Gladion's back. "Ahahahahaha! Come, my noble steed, to the Pokemon League! Ride and serve thy Champion!"

"Moon!"

"Oh, Monsieur Gladion? Are you, a noble knight that serves underneath the Lady Champion, willing to drop me, the weak and feeble, and injury me furthermore? Thine Champion's leg aches from the travel up that outrageous mountain. Would you be a dear and say, escort me to my destination oh dashing knight?"

Raichu looked at Moon with a traitorous look. She brought a finger to her mouth and winked. Gladion sighed, tightening his hold onto Moon's legs. "Moon, Raichu carried you up that mountain. Your legs don't ache at all."

"JUST DO IT. BE LIKE THE UNOVA MEME LORD SHIA LEBOUF!"

After one fall, one drop, some hair being pulled, and a Psychic attack, Moon, Raichu, and Gladion made it to the entrance of the Pokemon League. Gladion dropped Moon from his back and Raichu used his powers to gently make her stand up. "Thanks, G!" she said smiling brightly.

"N-no problem," he mutters looking away from Moon. No way in the world will I let Moon see me blush.

"Let's go! There are trainers waiting for me!" Moon exclaims. She grabs her crutches and hobbles inside.

"Entering Lady Champion Moon. Welcome back," the intercom greeted. Immediately, all but one of the lights that activate the teleporter appeared.

"How come everyone's but Hau's lit up?" Gladion asked.

Moon replied, "Because, and these words are directly from Olivia's mouth, 'Moon is way too strong. Moon's adorable Pokemon have battled ours so many times and won that we already know the outcome.' Hau never misses an opportunity to fight me and it makes it more interesting. Stay here, Sir Gladion. You still have to beat all of them to even visit me right?"

Moon crutches her way towards the Normal-type user Kahuna. Hala retired, wanting a peaceful life after a few trainers came to battle Moon. Apparently, handling the jobs of Kahuna and the Elite Four was too much for his aching bones. Tapu Koko granted his wish and bestowed the title of Kahuna to Hau.

"Moon! Welcoming back!" the energetic Kahuna said. The green haired teen waved at Moon from across the room. Moon grinned and made her way over. "Moon! Made your way here alright? Heard you can't fly. Knowing you, you did not climb that mountain. How'd you do it?"

"I had some help," Moon said. She glanced at the yawning Raichu. "Let's battle!"
