When the Night Fell in Love with the Moon

Chapter 4

"Let's battle!"

Hau's smile never wavered when he took out his Miltank. Her cry filled the chamber. I know that Miltank can heal herself, so I need to defeat her quickly. But she can also use Yawn, which might affect this whole battle.

Moon grabbed one of her Great Balls. "Ready? I choose you Lycanroc!" Out pops her special Dawn Lycanroc. His blue fur shakes as he stretches from being cooped up in a Great Ball. He looks back at Moon. Moon gives her signature peace sign. "Let's kick some butt!"

"Lycanroc, use Rock Tomb to trap Miltank!"

He lurches forward and roars, summoning 5 great boulders that surround Miltank. Hau suddenly laughed. "Miltank, use Rollout to spin your way out of the trap!"

Miltank used the Rock Tombs to spin itself in a circle, rolling upwards into the sky. Your plan backfired Moon! Hau thought. "Lycanroc, use Close Combat to chop Miltank from the air and into the ground, then use Rock Slide!"

"What!? Quickly, use Milk Drink before he can inflict more damage!" Hau exclaimed. Lycanroc punched and chopped Miltank in rapid succession, resulting in Miltank being slammed into the ground. Before Miltank can even use Milk Drink to heal itself, rocks came raining down on it. "Miltank!"

After the dust cleared, Miltank laid there on the ground, unable to battle. "Good job Miltank! Who knew you could use Close Combat like that!" Hau praised Moon.

She grinned. Hay's mood was infectious and the prospect of a strong battle boosted her mood. "Your Rollout wasn't that bad either."

"Okay then, come out Exploud!"

Hau's Exploud yelled so loudly that the whole chamber shook. Lycanroc staggered. Moon can see that his HP bar just dropped a few points. From my previous experiences, Exploud has Crunch and Hammer Arm. It's been a while since I faced it so Hau might've taught it a few moves.

"Lycanroc, use Close Combat!" Lycanroc lurched forward, his eyes gleaming.

"Exploud, push him back with Boom Burst!" Hau commanded and Exploud yelled. Lycanroc was stopped in his path as the force of Boom Burst matched his strength. "Exploud, quickly use Hammer Arm!"

"Lycanroc, use Rock Slide to slow him down and then use Crunch!"

But before Lycanroc recovered from the last attack, Exploud's arm threw him across the stadium. "Lycanroc!"

He struggled to stand up, but Exploud's Crunch ended the battle. Moon sighed, crouching down to receive her Pokémon. "Good job, Lycanroc. You deserve a good, long rest."

Moon tightened her position, looking at her old friend with a new eye. "Hau, when did Boom Burst get that powerful?"

"Oh, a little training here and there. C'mon, bring out your next Pokemon!"

Moon lazily flicked the next Pokeball. "Tsareena, stand by." The Fruit Pokemon flared at Exploud. It's long legs danced back at forth, itching to literally kick some butt.

"Tsareena, use High Jump Kick." Tsareena ran forward, it's powerful limbs jumping into the air. Her kick landed on Exploud, creating a dust cloud. "Exploud, use Ice Punch!"

"Tsareena, dodge then use Trop Kick!" Moon's Pokemon narrowly dodged the punch and raised her legs in the air quickly, slamming it down with a tropical flare.

Moon kept up with the relentless attacks, and not a single on of Exploud's attacks hit Tsareena. "One more Trop Kick!"

Tsareena used the move, ending the battle with Exploud. Hau returns Exploud. "Moon! Your Tsareena is uber fast! How?"

"The one stat I focused on when I trained Tsareena is speed. Tsareena's defense is weak, so if the Pokemon can't hit her, then she can provide strong attacks."

Hau battles with all his might. Snorlax, Audino, Pidgeot, and Slaking all fell under the might of Moon's Pokemon. Hau laughed. "Aww man! I though Slaking would've beaten your Primemarina!"

"Your Retaliate was impressive! You've gotten stronger my green-haired friend."

"Go be a Champion Moon! Watch out for that leg! Snorlax almost fell on it didn't he?"

"Hahahaha! He almost did!" Moon started to walk out of the chamber. "Wait!"

Moon ran back to Hau and gave him 7 Big Malasadas. "Here! One for you and each of your Pokemon! I know that being Kahuna is a weight on your shoulders, so I brought you some Sweet Malasadas!"

Hau stared at the bag for a long time. "Uh, Hau? You okay?"

He looked up and tears were streaming down his face. "Moon! I don't deserve you!"
No, I don't deserve you. You're a precious sunshine child I will protect till the day I die, Hau.

Moon sat down at the Champion's Chair, waiting for Gladion to beat the Elite 4. While waiting, she took a small nap, knowing that she spent last night watching 4 hours of Boku no Hero Academia. Bakugo is her favorite child, with Shoto as her second favorite. For some reason, she likes the tsunderes of every anime.

Moon was suddenly pushed off her seat. "What the-"

Gladion stood there, smirking at her. "Champion huh? You can't even stay in your seat. What if I just sit down?"

"Over my dead body G. You think I'll let you get away with my hard earned prize?"

"Yes."

"Dang, you're right."
