Adrienne
Adrienne needed a drink in her hand as fast as she could possibly manage. She made sure she had eaten and drank enough to make sure she wouldn't tumble the line between tipsy and drunk too quickly. She would settle for a glass of Rosé to start. Maybe have a couple just to honor Kasey's sobriety. It was coming up on a year anyway.
Her key for parties was to always have something in her hands, and something in her pocket at all times. For tonight, it was her phone in its wallet case in her pantsuit pocket, and alcohol in her hand. An easy go-to.
Scanning the crowd for other people she knew, Adrienne sighed at the task it would be to get to the stairs to the balcony if she wanted to escape for fresh air. The few people she did know were swamped up in the mess of others who were celebrating other people for reasons that didn't matter in the end, except for possible acting career opportunities.
After downing both glasses, she asked for the tallest whisky the bartender would allow, with a $20 bill tip for just a little more. She could nurse this all night long.
"Go me." Adrienne whispered to herself, sipping her drink.
Very quickly into the night, when higher up people began to recognize actors and actresses around her, Adrienne escaped. The last thing she wanted was to be put on the spot. Her half full glass sloshing around, she quickly made her way through the cheerful crowd, and up the stairs to an upper balcony where she could escape.
Adrienne took a deep breath as she reached a railing, overlooking the lower half of London. Taking another sip of her drink, she glanced to her left to see a man about her age and quite a bit taller than her taking a sip of his drink.
She looked away quickly, but couldn't help her curiosity. The other man however, beat her to it.
"You escaping the crowd?" A deep British accent came out of the man across the way, surprising her in the best way possible.
"I can't stand crowds." Adrienne shrugged, twisting her back to crack it, a nervous tick of hers.
The man smiled sheepishly and made his way over to her. "That makes two of us."
Adrienne eyed him up and down, and really liked what she saw. He was taller than her, but not quite six feet tall, had blond hair, sea green colored eyes, and was broad chested. He was immediately coming off as very shy and sweet.
"Adrienne Ludovica Yelchin get out of your ass." She thought to herself. He settled next to her, taking another sip of his drink.
"Us introverts must stay together, I guess."
Adrienne laughed a little louder than she probably should have, meaning that the alcohol was starting to get through to her. She looked back up at the man and simmered down. To make up for it, she stuck her hand out to him.
