You know it's time for the hammer to fall"

They just don't know it yet.

Adrienne's eyes blinked open at the feeling of sunlight on her face. She had forgotten to draw the curtains over her blinds so the room was brighter than she anticipated. She was sprawled out on the right side of her bed, wearing only a thin tank top and panties that she barely remembered putting on the night before. She rubbed her temples in attempts to finish off her drunken stupor and feel completely hungover. Which she was. Her nerves felt completely shot. Her lips swollen, her body sweaty.
Adrienne cautiously turned to her left to see a sleeping Ben next to her. Her breath hitched in her throat and her legs clenched together at the sight of him shirtless in a pair of sweatpants laying down on his side. Even in a haze, she knew something was about to change drastically.
— Adrienne pulled up for air after finishing off the second tall glass of Gin and Tonic that her and Ben had. She set it down and turned to face Ben, who had been staring at her the entire time she finished it off. Not out of dismay, but out of fascination and her unintentionally tugging at his heartstrings.
"What is it?" Adrienne slipped off of her stool and stood up, leaning against the bar. Neither one of their eyes left the other.
"I just think you're beautiful."
Adrienne blushed furiously. Those were words she had secretly been wanting to hear from him, but she felt guilty given the setting. "We're drunk, Ben."
"You're beautiful when we're sober."
Adrienne's heart was set aflame. She wasn't sure how to combat the remark with words, but she could at least show him. She took a step forward to whisper into his ear. "Tonight should be about you."
She pulled Ben to his feet from the stool he was on, knees almost buckling when their eyes met again, only this time they were much closer than before.
"First one of us drunker than Gwilym loses." Ben challenged. Adrienne scoffed.
"That's too easy." A third voice broke the impending tension between them. Joe slung an arm around the both of them. "This round is on me."
—
Ben was awake not to much long after Adrienne, noticing that she was already sat up, sitting cross legged next to him. She had a glazed look in her eyes, and he couldn't tell what she was thinking or feeling. He did know one thing. They had gone crazy the night before.
"You okay, love?" Ben whispered, sitting up with her. Adrienne shivered when his fingers barely traced her shoulder. It wasn't that she didn't want him to, it was just out of nervousness as a result from the night before.
