My phone started ringing, my eyebrows furrowing together as I wondered why someone would be calling this late. It was 1:00 in the morning and I was pretty sure most of my friends were sleeping at this time.

I peaked over my pillow and looked at the screen. Josh was calling. I quickly answered, concerned as to why he was calling so late.

"Hello?" I heard his voice through the line, mingled with a ton of other muffled voices. That was right. I remembered him saying he and Tyler were going to a birthday party for one of their friends.

"Hey Josh. Are you okay?" I asked, my worries getting the best of me. The last thing I wanted was for something to happen to either Tyler or Josh. They were both my best friends, and I loved them more than anything.

To my relief, Josh said, "Yeah, I'm okay." I sighed, my breathing calming down. "But Tyler... well... he drank too much." My eyes widened. That made no sense. Tyler never drank, and he'd told me before that he never wanted to. It's too bad of a habit, he said. So how was it possible that he drank too much?

"What do you mean? Tyler doesn't drink," I responded, and I could kind of hear Josh chuckle through the phone. "What's so funny?" I asked, my mind completely perplexed. I wasn't sure if he was trying to play a joke on me or whatever, but I didn't find it amusing.

"The thing is, he didn't mean to drink a lot. He didn't know there was alcohol in it," he explained.

"How did he not know-" I tried to ask, but Josh quickly cut me off. I was still confused about the situation, but I wasn't as worried since Josh seemed completely fine.

"Can you come to pick him up? He's being... difficult. I just think he needs to go home." I could tell that Josh was hesitant to say those words. He didn't like negatively talking about his friend.

"Yeah, sure, I guess."

"Okay, thanks. I'll text you the address."

I grabbed my keys and rushed to my car, eager to see Tyler. I had no idea what was going on, or why Josh even needed me to get his best friend, but if he needed help I'd be there as soon as possible.

After putting the location into my phone, I arrived at this person's house a few minutes later. Josh was standing outside with Tyler by his side, and it looked like he was trying to hold him up. I quickly opened the car door and rushed across the driveway to them.

"Y/n!" Tyler exclaimed, escaping Josh's hold so he could come over towards me. He almost tripped over his feet on his way over, so I quickly rushed to hold him steady.

"Thanks again," Josh said as he began walking back inside. "Good luck with him." I rolled my eyes, taking a deep breath and wrapping my arm around his shoulder so he could stand upright.

"Let's get you home, okay Ty?" I said calmly as I opened the door to the passenger seat for him.

"I don't wanna go home," he whined, pouting his lip. I pushed him a bit so he would just sit down already. I couldn't deal with him if he was going to be annoying.

"Fine. We're going to my house then," I stated, swinging his door shut. I walked around the car to the drivers seat and sat down, putting the key in and starting it up. Thankfully, he was silent the whole ride home. He was too busy fiddling with his fingers to annoy me. But when we arrived, I had to trudge him all the way to the front door, and it took way longer than it should have.

"Okay, Tyler, the first thing you need to do is shower. You smell like alcohol," I told him. He'd been to my house many times before, so he knew where everything was and could do it on his own.
