~Harmony's POV~
*2 weeks later*
I haven't seen or heard from Julian since 2 days after they took him to jail. He's out, but he understands I want nothing to do with him.
*4 hours later*
After I finish my last customer, I close up and go meet up with the girls.
When I get to Alise's house, everyone welcomes me warmly and Shanya offers me a drink.
"No thank you." i say
"Why you not drinkin' with us?" alise asks
Before I could say anything, Janine sips on her drink and says, "because she's pregnant woth the asshole's baby."
"PREGNANT?" alise and shanya ask in unison
"yea..." i confess "but how did you know?" i ask janine
"you're showing and glowing." she simply states
"damn. I tried to hit it." I say
"how far along are you?" alise asks
"4 months now." i state
"was it consensual or rape?" janine asks
"consensual." i say remembering that night
*Flashback*
".....this is why I can't take you anywhere."
"What did I do???" i asked
"You were flirting with the waitor." he said
"Flirting? I didn't flirt with him." i said
"All of that smiling, and winkin', what was that?" he asked
"I didn't wink at him, and I smile all the time." i said
"Ok harmony." he said as he raised his hands in surrender and grabbed his car keys to leave.
"Where are you going?" i ask him
"Home." he says then turns back towards me and says, "Happy Anniverary."
"You just gon' leave without your present?" i asked him
He put down his car keys and sat down and I went upstairs.
*End of flashback*
"HARMONY!?" shanya yells getting my attention
"I'm sorry, I've just been really out of it lately." i say
"It's ok." shanya says "...does he know?"
"Nope."
"Why not?" she asks
"Because I don't want him around my child." i say bluntly "He can't even handle a relationship like a real man would, he has to hit people and threaten them to feel like a man." i say
"It sounds like you want to get away from him." alise says
"I do." i say
"Good.. Thank god." alise says
"He won't be in my life for too much longer." i say
We talk for a little while longer and then I go home.
When I pull up in front of my house, Jullian is sitting in my driveway in his truck.
"Hi." i say
"We need to talk." he says
"About what?" I ask
"We just need to talk, in private. Lets go inside." he says
We go in the house and he pulls out his phone. He plays a voicemail of me saying he couldn't handle a relationship.
"Is this how you feel?" he asks
"Yea." i say
"Hmm.. ok" he says and throws the remote at me
I laugh at his frustration.
"Oh, my love is funny?" he asks
"Sure is." i say
He gets even more frustrated and leaves.
*1 month later*
I haven't seen or heard from Jullian since the day he got angry and left. I called him the next day, but he didn't answer so I left a message, telling him it was over between us.
I feel so much happier than I was before we were together, and while we were together.
I'm 5 months pregnant and today I find out the gender of the baby.
*2 hours later*
"Ms. Johnson?" the dr asks as she enters the room
"Hi." i say and smile
"Hi, I'm Dr.McIntosh." she says and smiles "Are you ready to find out the sex of your baby?" she asks
Someone knocks on the door and the door opens slowly.
"Hey." lamar says as he comes in and closes the door behind him, and sits in the chair next to me.
"Ok, let's find out the sex of your baby." she says
She puts the gel on my stomach and does the ultrasound.
"It's............... a boy" she says smiling
