1 year later
"Happy birthday baby girl!" Zoe screeched, jumping on top of Giselle as she lied there still half way sleep.
She groaned, roughly pushing Zoe off of her.
Zoe rolled her eyes, grabbing the small cupcake and lighting the candle.
"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Giselle Monét Jones, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!" Zoe sang loudly, as she skipped around their apartment that they now shared.
Because Giselle was so goofy, she couldn't help the wide smirk that stretched across her face as she listened to Zoe's horrible singing and not to mention, her loud ass obnoxious voice.
She finally sat up in her King sized bed, smiling lazily. Zoe placed the cupcake on her nightstand and hugged her tightly.
"How does it feel to be 20?"
Giselle inhaled the positive aroma around her. She couldn't believe that she was 20 years old with her birthday being hella early. Today was January 17th, the day she was born.
"It feels surreal." She spoke honestly. "I was just a little girl, running around playing with Barbie dolls."
Zoe smacked her lips. "Girl, yo rich ass? We all know you was running around driving in mini Mercedes Benz. You can't fool me."
Giselle rolled her eyes, smiling a little because it wasn't a lie, but she did too also play with dolls.
"So, are you gonna eat your cupcake or not because I put hard work into that?"
Giselle scrunched up her face, knowing damn well Zoe's cooking skills were not up to par. "Ah, shit well if you cooked it I don't even know if I want to eat it now."
Zoe flipped Giselle the bird, bucking at her. "I don't even have time to bake cupcakes and shit, you know I went to the bakery up the street." She laughed, walking out of Giselle's room.
Giselle shook her head. Zoe was a hot ass mess, but she was grateful to call her a close friend.
Just as Giselle was about to dig into her red velvet cupcake, she received a FaceTime call from her madré.
"Mommy!" She squealed, smiling from ear to ear.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANGEL!" She screamed.
"Happy birthday baby girl." Izan's husky voice sounded as he appeared in the camera.Giselle wanted to cry. She missed her parents so much and it was even crazier because she was just in LA for Christmas. The attachment she had with her parents was out of this world. Though Giselle was nearly grown, she still remained a little girl when it came to Izan and Alessia.
"I miss y'all so much, thank you!" She smiled.
"What you got planned for today? Doing anything with yo boo?" Izan playfully asked.
