"Sherlock! There is a case waiting for you. It seems that the agents assigned to the case had a hard time." Valentino called and I took a deep sigh.
"I'll be on my way." I assured him and ended the call.
"Scarlett! We have to go to the agency. A kid was beaten up and drowned in a river a few blocks away from her parent's house." Kim informed me, panting in the process.
"I'll be ready in a few minutes." I told him. I took a quick cold bath and wore my beige detective coat with my black spaghetti strap sleeveless shirt and high waist shorts and white converse to match. Looking at myself one more time at the mirror, I went out to see Kim, Owen, and Jason dressed.
"You're coming?" I ask Jason.
"Yeah." He looks down at his shoes shyly and I give a discreet smile. Cute.
"I'm driving." Kim offers as he grabs the keys of Jason's sexy red pick up truck. Heading downstairs and opened the trucks door, I somehow got deja vu; remembering those times I have to kill those who fuck up every case. Like just imagine: being an agent at the same time a murderer.
Going down the truck as the car stopped, Valentino and Maddie are waving at me to get inside immediately. "Guess we have to make a run for it." I smirk as we ran to them.
"Where to?" Kim asks them with eagerness in his eyes.
"The confession room. Bet y'all know where that is." Maddie smiles as we walked faster and reached the elevator. Maddie pressed the button on the 12th floor so hard, it could be broken if added another 30% of force.
As the metal doors opened, we ran towards the door and Kim harshly turned the knob of the metallic blue door open; revealing the agents and Maddie's father, the boss, Joshua with the files.
"The information about the kid is in here. She is in the autopsy. I suggest you go there." Joshua says strictly.
"I'll go for it." Kim volunteered while getting the uniform and mask and left with Maddie.
"I have to go in there too. She might have some scars that might lead to the killer's weapon." I say blankly; grabbing the uniform and wore it.
"Jason, stay here for a while." I told him, squeezing his shoulder before going to the autopsy.
I knocked on the door and entered the cold room. Everyone is working. Some were writing down and some are examining.
The kid's dead not too long ago.
"Duration of death?" Kim asks.
"Since she was drowned, I can't really guess how long she was there." The head examiner told him as I wear my gloves. Touching the face of the pale child, I knew my assumption was right.
"Last night around midnight." I caress her cold cheeks.
"Write this down: A bite mark, bruises, and she seems to have lost her virginity." The assistant examiner found out as the secretary follows his instructions.
"Jesus. Is it that bad?" Kim covers his mouth in shock. I can't deny it either. I was shocked too.
"I want that bite mark examined." I ordered to the forensics and they rushed to have a check on it.
"I'll get this done in a few days Sherlock." A beautiful young lady; who I think is the new head of the lab spoke to me formally.
"You'll be fine little one. My Hannah."

Walking away while removing the blue dress from the lab, I went out to the cafeteria to grab a cup of coffee. The barista looks so fierce with the glossy black hair that is tied in a high ponytail, striking grey eyes, thick eyebrows, and full plump lips that every girl dreads for.
"I'll get a cappuccino." I smile at the young woman in front of me as she makes the coffee and pours it effortlessly on a disposable cup and hands it to me.
"That will be $6." She informs softly as I grab my 10 dollars.
"Keep the change." I smiled sweetly at her.
"My warmest thanks ma'am." She bows and smiles and left her to seat on the empty chairs and placed my hot coffee on the table.
Looking at the empty area that surrounds me, deja vu sort of hit me for some reason. A familiar man enters into my view out of the blue.
Donovan?
It can't be. He left me for her. I meant nothing but a toy. I must go immediately. Rubbing my forehead and stood up without making the chair screech on the shiny white marble floor.
"Scarlett!" That voice called out for me and I froze. I did the first thing that came out of my mind: Run.
I ran back into the office and the boss stood there with Jason; surprised. I took a deep sigh of relief. I feel like a coward running from that guy. I felt bad for not telling anybody excluding Kim that I didn't get over of what he did to me. Never.
"You saw Donovan didn't you?" The Boss speaks with his deep voice which turned out very uncomfortable for my liking; making the situation even worse on my part.
I nod in agreement. There is nothing he can do. Nothing I can do either. "This is a trio mission. That's you, Dray, and Donovan. You have nothing to do about it." The Boss lights up his cigar.
"Nothing to do about it? I don't want to make acquaintances with that guy ever again!" I plead, begging for his change of mind.
"The best detective begging? This is unusual but I can't do anything about it. The victim's parents requested for the three of you." He blows out smoke.
"Scarlett." Donovan's voice gave a shiver down my spine. He engulfs me in a warm hug and I resist. "I still love you." He hugs me tighter.
"You love me?" I ask him as he aggressively moves forward.
"I do."
Those words made my blood boil. My body has a mind of its own and decided to punch him square at the face. "If you still want to be alive, don't you ever get close to me. I fucking hate you. Can't you see that? You left me for her since she was hotter right? Guess what asshole? I grew some balls and fucking forget about us!" I shouted at him and slamming the door in the process while I ran to the girls bathroom to clean my teared face up.
"Scarlett!" Jason bursts in the public bathroom and I looked at him weirdly.
"I'm sorry." I apologized.
"For what?"
"For not telling you everything. That I lied I was clueless in love. That I had someone before and cheated on me with another chick. " I blurted out and wiped the fresh tears that flow slowly on my cheeks.
"It's fine you know? You don't have to tell me if you feel uncomfortable. "He hugs me with comfort.
"I fucking hate him. I still do." I bury my face on his chest. "And that asshole has the guts to say that he still loves me."
"You still love him?"
"I'd rather die."
"Then who do you love?"
"This guy who hugged me." I smile.
