Why This...

 Ed walked outside only to find Roy in a car waiting for him but there was a woman with him Ed's inner thoughts were 'ugh this chick. He can do so much better.' "Fullmetal, this is Alice. I will be with her tonight so can you tell mother I'm stuck at the office all night or something..?" Ed suddenly felt sick to his very core and looked down. He stood there quiet and backed away from the car. Roy noticed this and got out to speak to him, "Ed..?"

"I am not going to lie any more to your mother. I suggest you call her and tell her that you're 'stuck at work all night' I'm already acting as your fiancé because you're a womanizer that can't keep his priorities in check along with his piece in his pants. I mean do know half the crap I have to put up with because you mess up on so much work Riza can't fix all your mistakes but she was right... I should just up and go into the war because the one I care about is too dumb to notice. -sigh- I'll tell your mom but if you do this again... I'm telling her the truth and I'll walk I know where is it." With out hearing a word Roy had to say he walked off dragging his 'umbrella' with him.

Once Ed got there with a bunch of groceries, he saw Lorena was asleep in the lounging room so he decided to go to the kitchen and began to cook when the doorbell rang. He slid across the hardwood floors to the door once he answered he smiled, "Hello Riza. Staying for dinner?" she smiled and let her in. Lorena woke up and walked to the kitchen where she saw Ed and Riza, "where is Roy?" "Oh sorry to have awaken you. Roy told me he was stuck in the office it seems he won't be back until tomorrow sometime. So Riza, whom I'm sure you've met, will be staying for dinner." Lorena nodded and excused herself to the restroom.

"So, where is he really..?" "With that red head Alice we both hate. I hate having to lie to his mom but you know I can't really just say oh well he's with another woman." "Yeah but it hurts you seeing this." "Not much I can do.... after this month I'll probably join the war anyway. Roy will most likely be glad I'm gone so why not do as he wishes and be the fiancé for a month.. lets finish cooking we have a mother to serve."

Roy had just walked and is now feeling guilty having heard the entire conversation, thought 'why this? wait am I the one he was describing earlier?' Roy walked to the door and closed it a bit louder than last time so they would hear him come in. Ed slid to the door to see who it was and to say he was shocked was the only way to put it but Roy was even more surprised. "Uh Ed why is your hair...?" Ed smiled and ran his non auto-mail hand through his hair, "blame your mom, she wanted to see how long it is and well I'm no longer allowed to have my hair pulled back or braided unless I'm working or were going out." Roy was taken aback by this statement but grinned. he gave Ed a look over and noticed Ed's hair hit mid back and took note that his hair compliments his long golden lashes and his honey gold eyes. He also noticed that Ed was wearing shorts a tank top and an apron. 'Damn he looks pretty hot I would love to... Wait get it together Mustang he's a guy.'

Ed left Roy in his thoughts and began to set the table. He grabbed a white table cloth and put it on the table. He then grabbed a vase full of white and red roses and put it in the center. "Hm... Plates oh I know." he ran back into the kitchen and grabbed white plates that had flecks of gold in it but had blue flowers circle all the way in until it hit a giant gold rose. Then proceeded with placing the silver wear, napkins, and glasses ( both normal and wine glasses) he then put dinner down on the table, grabbed a red and white wine and finished off by lighting the candles in the room. "Dinner is ready. So come and get it."

Lorena took one look at the room and then looked at Ed who was no longer in his shorts and tank top but in a red button up shirt and a pair of black slacks. Lorena looked at Roy who walked in with a blue button up shirt and tan slacks. "Roy I always knew you cleaned up well but Ed... I must know who taught you how to not only dress but set the table and cook?" Ed smiled while blushing a bit, "well Lorena ever since I can remember my brother and I only lived with women so we had to learn. I may not show it often but I do know how to give that um 'feminine touch'." With that said Lorena then asked the most outlandish question any mother ever could, "Ed have you ever used transmutation to uhm... be a woman..?"

Roy started to choke on his food while Ed grinned a bit. He looked at Lorena and said, "I've done it many times for missions that your son sends me on. It's easier as a woman to get information than it is as a male so that's what I did. Plus now people think I have a twin sister running around." Roy was stunned 'solves the whole Ed has a twin sister' rumor. Lorena then began to speak but little did she know is the topic she brought up was a sensitive spot for Ed, "So Ed, why do you have auto-mail? What happened when you were younger?" Ed looked down not even Roy knew the whole story but he figured it was time with a heavy sigh looking down he said, "It was 10 years ago. I was nine and my brother was eight... we lost our mother because she was fighting a battle with cancer. For the longest time she was strong but one day we got home only to see her doctor there. He said mom was dead but we didn't... want to accept it. At the time my brother and I didn't realize how naive and dangerous our idea was... nor did we realize it would fail. You see we did something that is almost impossible... We tried to bring her back. We knew that it was forbidden but we didn't care. Because of it well my brother had lost his body but his soul was in a suit of armor and I lost my right arm and left leg..." at this point Ed's tears finally came out. He excused himself and went up to his room and locked the door. Roy sat there shocked he knew that entire story except about their mother having cancer and then having to know the concept of death so young man he already thought the boys were tough but hearing that, Roy shook his thoughts off and also excused himself to check on Ed.

Ed sat there after having changed into his pajamas looking at his auto mail. "Man I can see why I'm unattractive I'm a fourth metal.-sigh- mom I wish you were still with me. I mean you always will be in spirit but after having to fight you as sloth and then seeing your face as she died... did you know it was you even before then.? You called me son... You embraced me as my mother and said I love you... I'm sorry" Ed then turned off the lights and laid there crying to himself silently. Roy heard the entire monologue Ed had and soon realized he was crying too. After wiping his eyes he knocked on the door and heard the shuffling of feet.

He was welcomed to Ed wiping his face of tears and he was wearing sky blue pajamas with the top unbutton exposing his entire upper half. Roy then felt heat rush to his lower region due to how adorably innocent Ed looked. He shook the thought of even having Ed in that way and spoke, "Ed, I came in here to check on you, are you going to be ok..?" Ed looked up at him and Roy's heart stopped for a second, Ed's eyes were lifeless and cold as if he had just had gone into a depression so bad he couldn't get out. Ed then nodded faking a grin but Roy wasn't fooled one bit. Roy pulled Ed into a hug and said in a low voice, "it's ok to cry Ed. I'm here for you." Ed had broke and began crying and then Roy realized he cared for him a lot but all Ed kept thinking is 'why this? Why you does it have to be like this? And why the hell does it have to be you that I fell for?!'

Well that's it for this chapter it took forever but I think it was worth it. Anyway I'll update again soon.
