(3rd person POV)
(Y/N) still hasn't woken up. It's been a week. Many of her coworkers visited. Some of her very distant family. Even some of the people she got to know while working on their cases. It felt strange for Hank. Jeffery Fowler has visited, and could see a very exhausted Hank, sleeping on the couch. Connor was sitting near (Y/N) when Fowler came in.
"Hey, Connor," he said before leaving. "Yes?" Connor asked, looking up to him. "Make sure Hank stays healthy. And sleeps well. It's not easy after all the things happening," he said. Connor nodded, and Jeffery had left. Gavin decided to keep going to work, but he was disoriented. The entire station was quiet. There wasn't Hank and (Y/N) to make the noise.
Gavin didn't really speak. Not many people had spoken. They just tried to continue at work. And no one could fill the void. The silent void. There was just nothing they could do. It always had felt empty.
Connor stayed at the hospital, gently rubbing (Y/N)'s hand as he waited for Hank to wake up. Hank had only been asleep for a few hours, and there was no telling whenever he woke up. He stayed up so late, and when Connor finally told him to sleep, he did.
Connor didn't need sleep, so he sat there, gently rubbing (Y/N)'s hand with his thumb. He was also hoping she'd wake up. He was mostly hoping. He blamed himself. Especially since what her dad said.
"It's all on you!"
He sighed, feeling a tear roll down his face.
"I'm so sorry.."
"Hank?" (Y/N) questioned as she walked through the door. There was screaming coming from his bathroom. She ran in, her gun drawn, to see Connor standing near Hank, who was stuck in the bathtub. "Connor? What the fuck are you doing here?" Hank and (Y/N) said in unison. "There is a case at the Eden club," Connor informed us. I reached out an arm to Hank, and helped him up.
"Let me get him sobered up, can you get him some clothes to wear?" (Y/N) asked, holding him up as she walked him to the toilet. Connor nodded, and walked off to Hank's room. He decided to look around, and saw some old photos of (Y/N), Hank, and a little boy. Connor scanned it, and it was Hank's son, Cole. "They must've known each other for a while.." Connor muttered to himself.
"Hank what did I say about drinking!?" Connor heard (Y/N) yelling from the distance. He decided to listen. "Oh why do care!?" "Why do I care!? Hank I'm your god damn best friend! I've been there for you through everything!" The yelling only continued, until Hank was stopped with the sound of puking. And (Y/N) only sighed. "Just please sober up.." (Y/N) whispered.
Connor sighed as he remembered that day. The eden club. Why was that such a vivid memory now? That didn't matter. Connor just sighed, and closed his eyes. "Please. Please wake up (Y/N)," he whispered, another tear rolling down his face.
"I love you.." he whispered, and started to just sob, holding onto (Y/N)'s hand tightly. Hank was awake now, and he sat up, looking at Connor. He stood up, and gently place a hand on Connor's shoulder. "She'll wake up.." Hank whispered, making Connor look up. "But what if she doesn't..?"
"Yo Hankford!" (Y/N) yelled as she walked into Hank's house, and there he was, getting ready for work. "How are you so energetic?" "Stratford tower got hacked by deviants! We're sooooo gonna be late! Connor's already in the car," she said, her energy never calming. Hank raised an eyebrow as he finally put on his jacket. "Connor's in the car?" He asked.
"I drove him here. It was easier anyways. Now cmon! I wanna get there! Before the FBI gets their nasty hands all over it!" She yelled in excitement, grabbing Hank's hand and pulling him out the door. (Y/N) made sure it was locked before they left or anything. "Jesus kid calm down!"
Connor sat next to (Y/N), as did Hank. They didn't talk to each other. And Gavin was coming with food. Hank was so hungry, and Gavin offered to stay with Connor and (Y/N) while Hank went home and showered. And cleaned up. All that. As they sat there, suddenly, the heart monitor beeping went irregular. Then it flatlined.
Hank and Connor both got up quickly. "Help! We need some help in here!" Hank yelled, hoping someone would answer quickly. A nurse ran in, and hit the button near (Y/N)'s head. She put the bed into a laying down position, and other nurses ran in. Hank and Connor backed up, Hank hugging Connor as he cried. "Clear!" A nurse yelled, then shocked (Y/N). Nothing.
"Clear!" She yelled again, and once again, nothing. "Charge to 200!" She said, rubbing the two paddles together. "Clear!" She yelled, and another shock. The heart monitor beeped again. "We've got her back," a nurse said, and the other nurses gave a sigh of relief. As the other nurses left, the main nurse clipped the gown back on. "That was a close call. I am glad we got your friend back," she said, sitting (Y/N) up. "I'm (Y/N)'s main nurse. Nurse Pesavento," she said, holding out her hand for Hank to shake. Hank gently removed an arm from Connor, and shook her hand.
"I'm Hank, and this is Connor," Hank said, Connor looking up to her as he wiped his eyes. "She's going to be okay. She's in great hands." The nurse said, then she left.
A/N: gahhhh! I'm so sorry this chapter was delayed! I was with friends all of Sunday, and today I had a snow day and painted most of the day. And yes, it's only November, but y'all, Illinois is drowned in snow. I'm trying my best to get these chapters out every day. I was just on break this week. But I hope you guys love it!
