dear diary—

our science project is done, but corbyn stopped me in the hall today.

he asked me how i was doing, and if i had remembered my promise.

i told him that i was fine, and i remembered, and some promises aren't meant to be kept.

he said that promise was, and he was about to say something else when jack walked up.

jack grabbed corbyn around the waist, pulling him close and kissing him. i dropped my gaze, and corbyn pulled away from jack.

jack wasn't happy.

but neither was corbyn.

"jack, i'm busy. can you leave? i wanted to talk to daniel," corbyn said, a bit sharply.

jack frowned, glancing at me. "you already talked to him."

"longer, jack," corbyn said exasperatedly, nudging his boyfriend away.

"i wanted to walk you to class," jack replied stubbornly, grabbing corbyn's wrist roughly.

corbyn twisted his arm around, freeing himself. "i said no. i know the way to class. i can walk myself. now go."

jack walked away in a huff, and corbyn turned back to me.

"sorry about him. um, i was just saying, if you ever need a friend or anyone, i'm here. please don't hesitate to talk to me if you ever need to vent, or if you think about breaking your promise."

and then he walked away.

honestly, i was still thinking about how jack had grabbed corbyn's wrist like that. i was so glad to see that corbyn stood up for himself, instead of just giving in to jack.

but then corbyn's words sank in, and i felt my cheeks flush as i fell a bit farther for him.

it'll be a hell of a climb back up, later.
