He continued to venture farther into the forest, paying no mind to the sky darkening and the path getting thicker the farther he walks. WINNER 2: starpolaris
I held the candle above my head gripping it with my shaking fingers. The wet had seeped into my bones, spreading through me like virus. I didn't matter, nothing would matter in a few minutes.
A clearing appeared almost out of nowhere, but I knew better. It wasn't there naturally and coincidences are just something humans made up to explain things they can't.
The towering trees surrounded me and I took a deep breath in, the smell of fresh rain made me smile and I thanked whoever was listening that I was glad it would be the last thing I ever smelt.
My knees touched the wet ground and mud soaked into my jeans. I placed my hands on the ground and knew it was where I belonged.
"I'm ready," I said, and heard the gun cock behind me.

WINNER 3: 1-800-Kai--
He held the torch high above his head, staring out into the abyss of the forest. This was it. One step in and everything would be behind him—everything would be over. Taking a deep breath, strength from the past years gathered up inside him as he dropped the torch and let the fire catch on to the leaves, hungrily consuming up, up, up until smoke was evident in the dark sky with the sound of roaring flames.
Taking one step forward, one step in, before glancing back at the flames, the boy went.
They say that the fires didn't dare go any deeper into the woods, and yet the boy was still never seen again.
