Note: This takes place in Shiganshina, when the Colossal Titan hasn't appeared yet and everything is still normal.. if normal even exists in that world.
Yeah, they're 11-13, so what lol.
KEY: [s/n] = sister's name.. if you don't have a sister create one lol.
[f/n] was a strange girl. Being in this hell called Earth would make anyone start curling up into a ball, because no one would want to live in a world where something so dangerous could be so close to you. This wasn't the case for [f/n] though. Instead of having to live life in fear and nervousness, or being paranoid, or just living with pure anger and the thrill for revenge, [f/n] would always put on a happy front; no matter what the situation was about.
That was something Armin always admired about her.
The two were sitting against the wall of her home in Shiganshina, doing nothing of the sorts. The air around both of them was a mix of emotion.
Armin felt a whole ton of things, from sorrow to remorse to feeling refreshed. Armin didn't know what to say to [f/n], he didn't know what he should say. Armin was afraid that if he spoke up and said something wrong, then [f/n] would begin to grow sad.
How silly of Armin to think that way, however.
But he had no choice but to think like that; how else would she react after hearing the news that her older sister died from the latest expedition?
[f/n] started scratching the ground with her fingernail out of boredom, her eyes dulled, her movements slowed. It truly felt like an eternity to Armin before he finally mustered up the courage to say something.
"I'm sorry." was all Armin said. He nervously casts his eyes over to [f/n] to see how she would react. Turns out, her actual reaction surprised him.
"No, it's okay Armin. My sister did her job in the Survey Corps, and I couldn't be prouder for her."
Armin let her words run through his mind over and over again, letting her thoughts seep into his brain. The heaviness that was upon his chest and shoulders seemed to lift up slightly, almost happy that [f/n] wasn't crying or being sad. Armin didn't know how to handle [f/n] if she was crying, he'd probably make the situation even worse for them.
"I'm happy that you think that way." Armin said, carefully choosing his words as he spoke.
"That's nice to hear." she replied, grinning a small grin. Armin returned the smile and slumped. He wanted to know more about what [f/n] was thinking and how she felt.
A long pause befell them, and Armin couldn't feel any more awkward.
"I heard she was gonna become a squad leader after the expedition was over. They were gonna throw a party over it." [f/n] muttered. Even if her voice sounded so full of life to another person's ears, Armin could sense that small hint of sadness.. even if it was so perfectly disguised behind her figure. Armin remained silent for her to continue. She took in a breath and stretched her arms.
"I'm really happy for her, Armin. She must have been extremely good to become a squad leader so quickly, she's my inspiration." [f/n]'s eyes now seemed to be filled with admiration as she looked up at the clouds.
"..[f/n]?"
"Yes?"
"It's okay if you want to cry, I won't embarrassed." Armin closed his eyes tightly. That took a lot in him to say that, he just hoped that her response wouldn't make him be embarrassed anyway.
