Connie's POV.
Everyday I stared at [first] during training when it was her turn. I couldn't take my eyes off her, she wouldn't notice anyways. Even when she turned the slightest direction towards me, I would struggle to put all my attention to Sasha or Jean.
I've had enough of it already, I really want to muster up the courage to ask her on a date, regardless if we're in training and the thought that we could die so easily is clear.
That night in the cabin, I turned on the lights in the room, triggering a few groans from my roommates who placed their heads into the blankets they had.
"Turn off the light, dammit." Jean mumbled loud enough for me to hear, since he was across from me after all. I rolled my eyes and sat up in my bed.
"Did you hear me?" Jean asked, removing the blanket from his head and rubbing his eyes, "Do I need to smack your head?"
"Nope, I actually need help.." I started, moving myself to the edge of the bed and throwing my legs over it. Jean sat up and looked at Connie, waiting for him to continue.
"I'll help!" Marco piped up. His head appeared in front of me, smiling. It wasn't that bad having Marco be on my side of the room. He had the top bunk whilst I had the lower one.
"Aren't you gonna wake Thomas up or no? Hurry up already!" Jean anxiously said. Impatient little..
"He's a deep sleeper, I'll leave him be for a little bit." I replied, before breathing out heavily. Time to put it out there, now. Marco got down from his bed and sat down on mine, looking at Jean before turning his attention to me.
"Okay, so, I have girl troubles." I tell the two of them. Marco warmly smiles at me and rubs my back, while Jean raises one eyebrow as if saying, "You really woke me up for that?"
"With who?" Marco asked, completely interested in this topic. It made me feel a little bit uncomfortable, to be honest.
"Uh, um.." I trailed off. "Just say it already Connie!" Jean scolded me. I rolled my eyes, jeez.
"With [first]." I finally say. Jean portrayed his usual smirk to everyone, before crossing is arms.
"Pretty obvious." Jean commented. Marco gave him a look, "Don't be so mean Jean, I'm sure Connie wouldn't be like that to you with Mikasa." Jean blushed shortly after that, but brushed it off.
"Anyways, I need to know how to ask her out, I feel like I have an idea but I feel like it will suck." I admitted honestly. Don't I feel desperate, I thought.
"Compliment her. Like her hair." Jean suggested. I stifled a laugh, oh Jean.
"I don't think complimenting her hair will work, since Mikasa didn't do anything." I told him. Jean grunted and scoffed.
"Um, try showing off. Your muscles or biceps or skills or something." Marco suggested next. Hm,
"Pfft, like he has any muscle Marco." Jean remarked. Hurtful, but it can be true! How embarrassing would it be if I was showing off nothing?
"I think I'll figure it out on my own guys, thanks anyways." I dismissed them, already getting into my sleeping position. I felt Marco and Jean's eyes blazing down on my back, but soon Jean went back to sleeping and Marco turned off the lights before doing so also.

I was going extremely desperate by the day. I've literally asked nearly every guy at training what to do, without revealing who I wanted to ask out, and none of the ideas they gave me were good or they were reciprocals of what Jean and Marco said. Are boys really that unoriginal with ideas? I really need help here! How am I supposed to ask [first]?
