All around in my home town
They're trying to track me down
They say they want to bring me in guilty

Caroline's POV

I have been here back in Maryville for about two days now and it is finally Friday. My dad has shown me the ropes on how to keep everything going as well as showing everything that we have going on and who works for us. The past two days have been nonstop after my meltdown. I have finished my work for the day and so has everyone else on staff. I walk out of my shower and wrap myself in a towel and wrap my hair up.

I walk out of my bathroom and see Knox sitting on my bed. "Can I help you, Knox?"

He looks at me and then looks away. Well, okay. Don't look at me. "Do you want to go do something after you get dressed? I know there isn't a lot to do in this town but we could go eat and maybe go to the races?"

I look down at my toes and then at him as he continues to look away from me. "Yes."

He stands up and nods then leaves. I drop my towel and walk to my closet. I pull out some clothes and throw them on the bed. I grab my Twisted X's and some socks. I make my way to my bed and put on my clothes. I look in the mirror at myself and faintly smile. My put my hand on my scar and slowly trace it.

                                                                  *EVERYTHING BUT THE BOOTS*

A knock comes from my door and I glance over to see Knox and Beau leaning against the doorway. I take my hair out of the towel and toss it on the floor. My natural waves flow down my back as I go put my shoes and socks on. I grab my phone and walk to the guys.

"Let's go." I push through them and go downstairs. The guys follow me down. I go off into the kitchen and see my parents kissing. "Mom, dad."

They look at me. "Yes?" My mom pushes her hair behind her ear and tries to give me all of her attention as my dad touches her.

"I'm going out and I promise I won't get in trouble." She nods.

"Do you need money?" I hesitantly nod. I hate asking them for money but I know they wouldn't let me get a job outside of this plantation.

My mom turns around and reaches into my dad's back pocket and pulls out his wallet. She opens it up and pulls out some cash. She gives him his wallet back and hands me the money. I take it and quickly count it. "You know I don't need forty dollars for what we are going to do?"

"Take it, Caroline." I nod and shove the money in my pocket. "Have fun!"

The guys and I go outside. The guys pass me and go to a black lifted truck. Someone has a tiny dick. I catch up with the guys. We get in but I struggle a little. Beau sits behind the wheel and Knox on the passenger side. We leave the plantation and go to the diner. We get out and go inside. We sit in a booth and Knox sits beside me.

"So why is he with us?" I point to Beau as I look at Knox.

"Because he wanted to intrude." I snort.

A girl with short brown hair, freckles across her face, and bright blue eyes walks to our table. A small stud sticks out of her pudgy nose. She's tan like the rest of us in this town. "Hi, guys, what can I get y'all this evening?"

She completely ignores me and keeps her eyes on Knox. "Well, I will have a burger with everything but pickles with sweet tea."

She writes down Beau's order as she keeps her eyes on Knox but he doesn't seem to notice as he looks at the menu. "Uh, I will have the same."

She writes it down and walks away. "Well so much for eating." I murmur and the guys look at me.

"We can call her back." I shake my head at Knox.

"Can you switch sides with me? I'm feeling a little claustrophobic." He nods and scoots out the booth. I scoot out and he goes into the inside. I slide back in and lay my head on the table.

"Who's racing tonight?" I look up at Beau as he looks at Knox.

"Greer. If he doesn't wreck before he gets out there." Greer was always rough with everything he touched and he was the reason we wrecked that night. He was perfectly fine except for the scar on his cheek.

I sit up and the girl brings the food out and sets it in front of them and just stands there staring at me. "Can I help you?" She snaps out of her gaze and walks away. "What's her problem?"

"You don't remember her?" I shake my head at Beau.

"That's Cricket," I smirk.

"Oh well, she hasn't changed much." Beau snorts.

"You know damn well she was always jealous of you because you had Greer and I wrapped around your finger." I shake my head.

"I never used you guys like that and you know it and he should know it." Knox chuckles. They start eating their food and I just sit there.

A girl with strawberry blonde hair and freckles bounces her way to a table. I know that hair anywhere. Dixie Johnston my ex-best friend. She turns around and sees me. She smirks and walks away. I look over at the guys and see them completely finished.

"Let's go." Beau throws some money on the table and I we leave the diner. We start walking to the truck when a guy with brown hair and hazel eyes walks to Beau. He has a sharp jawline, high cheekbones, a chubby little nose with his cleft pallet scar, and his big ears that throw everything into place.

He is hot. You can see his tattoos shine brightly through his greasy white shirt. "Who's this?" I snap out of my gaze and look at the guy's face. His deep southern voice is very sexy.

"This is Caroline." This is Greer...it's been so long. You can still see the faint scar on his cheek. Greer's eyes widen with surprise and happiness. He pushes past the guys and picks me up and hugs me. He twirls me around making me laugh. Greer puts me down and smiles down at me.

"Are you back for good?" I nod. "That's good."

"I guess so." He hugs me again and then let's go.

"I'm going to go eat and then head to the track. I will see you guys there."

After leaving and go to the track the guys made me walk all the way to the top of the stands. I wanted to push them back down but decided against it. I sit in between the guys and lean my head against the rail behind me.

"Let loose, Caroline, you're not going to get in trouble." I look over at Knox.

"Look, Kox, I appreciate that but that's not a risk I am willing to take. Not now and not later on."
