Here is Chapter 14! Huge news guys; this is the third to last chapter of The Purple Moon! Anyone else in shock? I know I am! It's been an awesome ride with many bumps, so thank you to all who have been reading and showing your support. Since I'll be making a book for each arc, I don't want each of them to be super long or else I'll never get them done. Anyways, I hope you vote and comment, thank you!

Chapter 14 • Revival

Time is ticking. I sprint through the long, cramped corridor as the purple light comes closer and closer. It becomes even colder than before with each step I take, and I automatically know that the ice is awaiting me not too far away. I create a beam of light in the palm of my left hand, using it as a candle to maneuver through the darkening area. The sword is in my right, which is pulling me down because of how heavy it is. I look up at the radiance in front of me and stop, finally realizing something.

As I approached the light since I left the ice arena, it has not become larger. However, the same tiny beam of light has been the same for all of this time, streaming down at a steady pace. Not knowing what else to do, I suspiciously continue on with my journey.

Glancing left and right, I make sure to be extra careful so that I don't fall for another trap like Vitara's. I have absolutely no time to engage in another battle; the Moon Drip ceremony has most likely already begun. I start to walk faster, refusing to think of such a thing.

I hear a noise behind me, as if someone is watching me proceed. Seriously? I don't have time for anyone else to fight me! I yell in my brain. I turn around and walk with my back facing the course I'm taking. I put the beam of light directly in front of my stomach, the rest of the hallway fully illuminated. When I see that there is no one following me, I narrow my eyes and curve back to my original position. As I do so, I slam into a brick wall in front of me. I speculate the sides of me, but there are no entrances. A dead end, I conclude. Anger runs through my blood as I punch the wall. How am I supposed to get to Deliora if I can't even get through the only place that leads me to it?

"I'm such a failure!" I yell, my voice echoing off of the walls multiple times. I let out a stressful groan and pace around the small area, not knowing what to do. I use my senses again, and just like before, the ceremony is apparently extremely close. No mistake there. Out of even more frustration, I stomp my foot onto the tiled floor.

All at once, the square below me shatters and I fall through the crack. "Ah!" I scream in an abnormally high-pitched voice. Using my resources, I pull the sword below my falling body, the point of the weapon facing away from my body. Then, the sword breaks through the ground, which gives me time to land safely. I fall onto the ground unhurt, as dust and small rock particles get into my nose and mouth. I close my eyelids before a mass of earth enters my eyes. I cough and sneeze a great deal until most of the debris exits my body onto the rock below me.

Out of the corners of my eyes, I see a large violet light. Surprised, I take a glimpse at what is in front of me, and finally, I see it.

The great demon Deliora towers above me.

Joy and fear consumes both halves of my heart. Although I'm happy that I'm finally here, I don't want to be anywhere near this beast. What if I'm too late and he comes and attacks me head on? I slap myself on the side of my head; I know that I should be trying to think of only the best possibilities, not the worst. Thankfully, I notice the glistening ice covering the whole body. I get up immediately and attempt to pull out the sword from the rock, as if it is the sword of Excalibur. Finally, I pull it out and run over to the beast.

Its dark armor-like body stood in the same formidable position I've read about. It is eyeless, as the holes lead to an unknown dark void instead. His teeth are still sharp in his wide mouth, and he stands almost as tall as the whole cave. Just looking at its demonic face makes me uneasy; therefore, I look further up. I see the purple light hitting the ice straight on, and I widen my eyes. It's starting! I look around the cave and realize it is coming out of the ceiling.

My feet and arms stop functioning as I acknowledge how foolish I am. I can't stop it from here. Of course! I need to stop it from above the cave, not inside it!

Once I comprehend what I should have done before, half a dozen henchmen enter the room. They are the ones that were watching me before! I think. Their attire is the same as the robes the henchmen Erza, Lucy, and Happy are fighting wear. I groan in annoyance as they come running towards me, and I draw the sword for the first time.

I lift it up and slash it through the air to the side of me, noticing that it feels a lot lighter once it's being used to fight. I look up from the sword and I see a slash of wind from my motion flying to the henchmen. Once met with the gust, they hurl backwards into the wall and fall down unconscious. Amazed, I feel the strong and powerful material of the blade of the sword. It's this powerful? How in the world did she tame this?

However, since this is definitely the least I should be worrying about, I head back to take a close look around. I need to find a way to get back to the top and finish the job that I entered the temple for. I run past the frozen monster and try to climb up the wall. With no avail, I get back down and begin to panic, trying to think of any way possible to get from the farthest down of the temple to the highest. Then, I see a place that leads out of the cave area, and I know that this is the only chance I have. I run to the opening, but then stop abruptly.

I feel the tip of a sword directed to my chest, and I step away from the darkness to the light.

"Wait, that's Elzie!" I voice yells, and I know instantly that Happy is here.

"You guys?" I ask, and out from the shadows the cat, Lucy and Erza can be seen. I let out a deep sigh and they look over, noticing that the Moon Drip ceremony has begun. Erza's eyes widen and she looks at me.

"We can't stop this now!" she says in defeat. Right there and then, I realize that I failed my mission. I can't do anything about it now.

"I came into the temple, and one of his henchmen got involved, and then Iced Shell, and Natsu, and, and..." I try to explain, but my series of multiple thoughts makes my speech jumbled up. Ignoring me, Erza draws out her sword.

"Get ready!" she demands. "We will have to defeat Deliora ourselves!"

"What?" Lucy asks in terror. She struggles to withdraw her keys as her fingers quiver. I have no idea what to do.

Then, more people enter the setting. Natsu comes in and gulps loudly, fire covering his fist as he finds out what's happening. Gray and Lyon enter as well, and they have opposite reactions. Gray's face has become full of shock, unable to speak. he just stares at the beast as if all the memories from so far in the past are recollecting in his mind.

"Yes!" Lyon screams with victory. "None of you can stop Moon Drip now!" he picks himself up, his bones broken and scratches covering his body; there is a lot more damage to him than there was when I saw him some time ago.

None of us could move, except for Lyon. He spreads his wounded arms out, forming icicles in his hands as if he's welcoming Deliora to life.

"I will kill you!" he madly hollered. "I will defeat the beast that Ur could not!"

A circular design with a sophisticated pattern allowed the light from the purple moon to shine through to the ice. The melted crystals transformed into cold water, making a river below it. The ground began to shake and the cave starts to break down, the structure behind Deliora crumbling from the disturbance.

It's all my fault, it's all my fault... I tell myself, as I discern that my family will get hurt because of me. All of the Fairy Tail guild members watch the awakening creature with uncertainty.

Once the ice trapping the head is completely thawed, a thunderous roar escapes as I cover my ears. Lyon laughs maniacally at the song of the satanic horror. My fate wraps around my head; we will all have to fight the revived Deliora.
