Oh my gosh, this is the second to last chapter! I'm already starting to plan for the second one and begin making the cover for the second book, but it all feels so unreal to me. I can't believe that this The Purple Moon is coming to a close. On another note, I have a favor to ask of you guys. If you see any grammar or spelling mistakes in any of the previous chapters, the chapter after this, or this one, please do tell me! I want to request for this story to be featured, and it has to be as professional as possible before I do. Thank you, and enjoy Chapter 15 : The Truth of the Demons!

Chapter 15 • The Truth of the Demons

The roars shake the ground even more, and the ice melts at a quicker rate than it did before. Its power source is enormous and more rocks begin to fall from the ceiling to the ground. I dodge all of the rocks coming down, as well as the others who surround me. The ice is already half gone.

"I can't let this happen!" Gray yells, and he runs in front of the beast. "The ice must be revived!" He puts himself in the same stance as before, determination in his eyes. "Iced Shell!" he chants, and the same wave of cold wind and ice particles surround him again.

"Gray, stop this!" I scream over to him. In a sudden hurry, I sprint over to him with the same worry I felt when this happened before. I reach him and resist the winds from the spell, and put my hand on his arm. I try to jerk him back, but he moves into position once again.

"Elzie, get away. Deliora has to be stopped before he revives again!" His right arm begins to transform into ice, the process quicker this time around. I begin to get even more nervous. Ur's ice melts more and more, Deliora almost awakened. The deafening pandemonium rages on.

"We can fight him together, Gray! You don't need to die. We don't want you to die. We'll destroy Deliora together, as Fairy Tail!"

I hear the gasps of Lucy as she witnesses what is happening, and Erza is concentrating on the beast and what is going on at the same time. Suddenly, I see a shadow loom over us. Gray and I look up, and Natsu is standing right there, his countenance showing how infuriated he is. He grabs Gray's wrist more forcefully than I did and speaks with a darkened tone.

"We can and will fight Deliora by your side, Gray. Stop trying to kill yourself for us. We'll all kill ourselves to protect each other. Listen to Elzie. Look at Lucy, Happy, and Erza. Think about Fairy Tail. We're all on your side until the very end."

The corners of Gray's eyes begin to water in frustration. He reluctantly puts his arms down, and the magic around him disappears into thin air. Natsu smiles happily and puts his hand on his comrade's shoulder as Gray's head hangs down low.

"You fool!" Lyon gibes madly, staring right at Gray. "If you executed the spell I'd just complete Moon Drip once again! You can't stop me! Has that mediocre guild truly made you this stupid? That's probably why you have blockheads as friends like the pink haired one!"

"What did you call me ice wizard number two?" Natsu commented. As he is stretching out his arms and walking to Lyon ready for a fight, I stop him midway. My blood is boiling like lava in an erupting volcano.

"I got this, Natsu." I step up towards Lyon, give him an inimical smirk, and punch him hard enough to knock his fragile body to the ground. "Don't you ever insult Fairy Tail." He doubles over in agony, mumbling inaudible words. I hear Happy laughing in the background.

"Nice one, Elzie!" Natsu remarks, and I smile back at him. I'm apparently doing well at hiding the amount of pain I put myself in.

The time has come. We all end the concerning for our own affairs and stare up at Deliora, who is completely unfrozen. We all draw our weapons; I have the sword in my left hand and a beam of light in my right. Unsure, we wait for the beast to attack.
