*2 hours later*
The food was well on its way to being ready and Will and Jay had finished decorating the house and setting the table ready for lunch.
*Jay's P.O.V*
The house looked great and Erin and Natalie were busy cooking up a storm in the kitchen. The smell of the food was making my stomach growl.
"Hey Will" I called out to him. He turned away from the window and looked at me. He walked over and sat down next to me on the couch. "Where is mum's ring?" I whispered so that Erin wouldn't overhear our conversation. Will's eyes widened when he realised why I was asking about the ring.
"You're going to propose?" he whispered back, clearly shocked.
"Yeah but" I started to say but was interrupted by a knock at the door. I got up to let them in.
"This conversation isn't over Jay" Will called after me. I rolled my eyes, but I knew he wasn't about to let this go any time soon.
I opened the door to reveal the rest of the team standing on the front porch. I quickly stepped aside to let them in before they froze to death out in the cold.
"Merry Christmas everyone! Come on in" I greeted them as they entered and made their way into the living room. I shut the door behind them, trapping in the heat produced by the fireplace.
I followed them into the living room and noticed that Natalie and Erin had joined the rest of the team.
*No one's P.O.V*
Erin had brought everyone a drink, everyone except Natalie who had a glass of orange juice. Nobody noticed.
"Now that we are all here, let's open presents!" Burgess exclaimed, unable to contain her excitement any longer. Roman chuckled and placed his hand on her thigh.
"Calm down babe" he joked.
"We may as well open them now whilst we wait for the pork to finish cooking" Erin said, nodding at Will who promptly jumped up from his seat.
"I'll be right back" he said, leaving before anyone had the chance to ask him what he was doing, even Natalie looked confused."Who wants to start?" Erin chirped, sitting down on Jay's lap so that Voight could sit down. Jay wrapped his arms around Erin's waist so that she didn't fall off his lap. Erin rested her head on Jay's shoulder, making him smile.
"I'll go first" Voight offered, standing up to hand each person their present. They each eagerly tore open the wrapping paper to reveal a photo frame with a picture of each of them sitting at their desk in the bullpen, smiling at the camera. Erin and Jay's photo frame had a picture of the other person looking at them when they weren't paying attention. They both smiled at each other and thanked Voight.
Burgess and Roman were next to hand out their gifts for everyone – a photo mug.
They each took turns handing out gifts to one another.
Will finally returned but remained out of sight. "Erin are you ready?" he called out.
"Yeah we will be out in a minute" she replied, getting to her feet with a nervous smile. "Now Jay, this one is from me, but I needed Will's help hiding it until today" she continued, pulling out a blindfold and placing it over Jay's eyes.
"What are you up to?" Jay asked nervously as Erin led him out towards the garage.
"You'll see" Erin replied, a nervous smile on her face as she guided him to the garage with the rest of their guests following closely behind.
Erin opened the door to the garage and guided Jay into the room. "Ok, right there is good" she said, coming to a stop and taking off Jay's blindfold.
The sight before him, took his breath away. He turned to face Erin, his face beaming with excitement.
Erin smiled up at him, as he struggled to find the words he wanted to say. Jay opened and closed his mouth but no words came out.
"It's all yours babe" Erin told him, smiling up at him. Jay wrapped Erin up in a tight embrace, tears of joy streaming down his face as Erin returned his hug.
"I love it!" he exclaimed, turning to run his hands over his new bike. Jay quickly turned back to Erin and pulled her closer to him before bending down and connecting their lips in a passionate kiss. Erin very quickly returned the kiss, wrapping her arms around his waist. Both detectives got lost in the kiss, the rest of the world slipping away.
"Ummm if you guys are done, there's people here that would like to open their presents" Voight interrupted, pulling the couple back to the present. Jay and Erin pulled away from each other, blushing furiously before following their guests back into the living room hand in hand.
Once everyone had taken a seat, Natalie handed each individual an envelope.
"This is from Will and I. We have been really busy with work so we weren't really sure what to get you all but we hope that the contents of your envelopes will make up for us not buying you each a gift" Natalie said, nodding at each of them to open the envelopes in their hands.
Everyone proceeded to open their envelopes and pull out the contents. One by one, everyone looked up at Natalie and Will with a look of both surprise and happiness on their faces.
"Bro is this for real?" Jay asked Will, receiving a nod in response. "Wow congratulations you two" he exclaimed, getting up to hug the happy couple.
Everyone expressed their congratulations before they all agreed it was time for lunch.
*20 minutes later*
"I'd like to make a toast" Will started, raising his glass "To new beginnings" he toasted, resting his hand on Natalie's shoulder and smiling at her lovingly. Natalie returned his smile and everyone raised their glasses.
