Recap

"You're good for him you know?"

I turn to see Alexys a bittersweet smile placed on her lips. "Who?" I ask her confused.

"Nick." She replies. "Now common lets go watch them perform." Alexys smiles, linking her arms with mine as we head out and stand by the Arreaga's.

Once in place she sends me one last pearly white smile and it hits me— Alexys was Nick's ex.

I felt stupid for not realizing it earlier, but now there was only one question stuck in my head.

Was I good for Nick?

The next week had gone by quicker than usual and for the most part uneventful—aside from some lingering questions in the air.

Zion and I hadn't spoken much since Dallas, and we were now in Atlanta, but he claimed what had happened didn't bother him all that much.

I'd beg to differ from how he's been acting.

Nick on the other hand was the complete opposite. He'd been talking to me with no hesitations, and it was brining us closer.

But we still hadn't talked about the whole Alexys situation like he promised.

I clear my throat making Nick look up across the table. "Hey I have a question." I say.

We decided to go out and eat for breakfast since he'd woken up early— which is rare. Nick shakes his head. "Yeah of course go right ahead."

I twiddle with my fork pushing some food from my plate. "Maybe it's not the best time to ask and if you're not ready to tell me yet that's okay too— but we never did get to talk about you and Alexys."

Nick's eyes shift to his plate sighing. "It's not that I don't want to tell you, I just don't want to ruin this." He says ushering between us grabbing my hand in the process. "What we got right now is good."

I nod with pursed lips. "Yeah no I get it, but remember I said I wouldn't judge you for whatever it was? It's the past and I can't change it." I tell him reassuringly.

"Unless you killed someone then that changes everything." I joke trying to lighten the air to which he laughs. "I can promise you it's not that."

"So then how bad could it be?" I press teasingly and he agrees. "You're right I've kept you waiting long enough, and you deserve to know."

Nick sighs. "Can I give you the short story?" He asks and I nod. "Yeah whichever."

"Alexys and I had a solid relationship we dated for about a year." Nick stops himself. "Or it was coming to a year I should say." He corrects and I nod to confirm I was following along.

"She was great never once was she not supportive. Alexys knew the dreams and goals I had, and she made me even more determined to accomplish them with the band." Nick says a vacant look passing his face. "But I fucked it up."

He shakes his head almost ashamed, so I reach for his hand to make his eyes look at me. "It's okay Nick, whatever it is I can tell you repent it."
