Y/N is finally able to convince her mom to let her move back to Iwatobi for the last two years of high school. Her mom rents her an apartment close to school and the Matsuoka residence. Y/N's mom and Mrs. Matsuoka have been close for a while, bondin...
"Alright Bisky," I say to the grey fluff ball sitting on my counter top. "I'll be back later." I grab my bag and double check that I have my phone, wallet and keys. I blow my little baby a kiss and turn the handle. Upon opening the door I'm met with a less than pleased Haru and a semi-displeased Mako, Nagisa, Gou and a blank faced Rei. "Why weren't you at school?" Haru asks deadpan. "Where are you going?" His eyes trail over my high waisted shorts and F/C cropped tee. I force a fake cough, smiling sheepishly at his narrowing blue eyes. Mako looks almost sad. "We thought you were sick." "I'm sorry," I say, my eyes downcast. "I just didn't want you guys asking if I was okay or looking at me like I might break." "You could have told us," Gou says. "Where are you going, Y/N?" Nagisa asks. I consider lying, but decide against it. They were so concerned that they all came by my house right after school instead of practicing. "There's a new teen club opening a few towns over. I was gonna go check it out. Get my mind off everything." "We're going with you," Haru says, again deadpan. I'm not even going to try to argue. All I do is nod my head. Over the next thirty minutes we walk to Haruka's house and Makoto' should so they can change before we make our way to Rei and Nagisa's neighborhood so they can do the same. Gou said she'll meet us at the station.
~Gou's Point of View~ "Hey big brother," I sing into the phone. "Have you left Samezuka yet?" "I'm almost done packing. Why?" I let him know the plans Y/N has for the night. I hint that he should invite some of the Samezuka team. "I can see who's still around. I know there's an optional practice tomorrow morning so some of the team stayed," he says. I hear him say something to Nitori. "What's the place called?" "She said it's called Club Eden," I relay. "I'll send you the address." "Alright," Rin laughs at something that happens in the background. "See you guys there. Go ahead and tell mom that I'll have a few guests staying over the weekend." I hope Y/N doesn't get mad at me.
~Reader's Point of View~ We arrive in town after spending an hour and a half on the train. The club doesn't open for two more hours so we find a local eatery to kill time in. "So how did you hear about this place?" Makoto asks between bites of his grilled squid. "There were a few back in Tokyo and I was just looking online to see if there were any near Iwatobi." I poke my chopsticks around my simple bowl of rice and chew on the straw in my glass of water. "I'm not gonna dance," Haru scoffs. "Not even if a cute girl asks you to?" Nagisa asks, poking him in the side. I stand up and start to push back from the table when all conversation stops. All eyes are on me. "I'm just going to use the bathroom." Gou shoots out of her chair. "Great! I'll come too." In the woman's room we both stand in front of the mirrors. I fix my thigh-high black sock and smooth out the wrinkles in my black high-waisted shorts after tucking my laces back into my charcoal grey combat boots. I fix the left sleeve of my F/C loose cropped t-shirt before assessing Gou's outfit of choice. She's wearing a light grey skater skirt with a powder pink t-shirt tucked in loosely at the waist band with flats the same color as her top. She opens her mouth to say something but I push through the bathroom door before she can get a word out. I join the boys back at the table. Nagisa has his face pressed against the glass. "It looks like there's already a line forming." "We'll walk over fifteen minutes after the doors open," I say. "They won't start playing the good music until about an hour after they start letting people in anyway." After talking for another forty-five minutes we pay our separate bills and make our way down the street to Club Eden. There are still about fifteen people getting ushered inside ahead of us. Nagisa and Rei are talking about all the girls they find cute and Haru and Mako are the ones being talked about by the female club goers around us. Jealous looks are being thrown my way just because I'm simply standing between them. Gou is drooling over the guys that are wearing shirts that accentuate their muscles. Finally we make it inside the club after only waiting about five minutes. All around other high school students are dancing, talking and drinking mock-tails and sodas. Currently a remix of Sing Me to Sleep is playing through the speakers. Haruka finds the first empty table and takes a seat in crescent moon shaped booth style seats. Makoto follows and soon the rest of us follow suit. "Y/N!" Nagisa yells over the music. "Come dance with me." Instead of straining my voice I simply nod my head. He takes my hand in his and leads me out as close to the middle of the floor as he can. Before we walked away we asked Gou to come with us, but she said she'd come dance later. Nagisa and I dance together to four or five songs non-stop. Gou finally joins me and Nagisa goes to get some water and sit down for a little bit. Gou fends off several guys that come to try and dance with us, even going as far as to tell them that we are there on a date with each other. I laugh every time she uses this excuse. I feel a pair of hands tentatively grab onto my waist and wait for Gou to swat them away, but this time she doesn't. She just gives me a small smile. A tall boy with orange hair takes her hand and I instantly recognize him as the Samezuka boys swim captain. Slowly I turn around and I meet the same red eyes that Gou has. My hips stop moving and I take a step back. I try to walk off the dance floor, but the same hands wrap around my wrist. "Can we go outside and talk?" Rin asks, bending over as not to yell. "Fine," I say. I don't really want to talk, but part of me can't say no to him. He moves his hand down and laces his fingers between mine as we walk to the double doors of the club. I notice Haru move in the booth without taking his eyes off me and Rin, but Mako pulls him back. The air outside has a slight chill to it. Rin must notice me shiver because he gives me his black cardigan. We walk down the road to a nearby park and take a seat on the swings. "Y/N," Rin chokes, breaking the awkward silence that settled between us when we stepped outside the club. I don't say anything. I won't even look at him because if I do I just know I'll break. He stands up and walks in front of me. His fingers reach down to the front of my shirt and he picks up the locket. "I thought you would have thrown it away," he half-heartedly chuckles. "Or at least stopped wearing it." I have this urge to tuck it into my top, but my hands won't let go of the chains holding up the swing. "I tried to take it off, but I felt naked without it." I watch as he fumbles to open it. I finally look up at him and see that smile that melts my heart along with tears in his eyes. One spills over his eyelid and without a second thought I reach up and touch his cheek, wiping away the runaway tear. I try to pull my hand away but he grabs it for the second time tonight and brings the back of my fingers to his lips. This is the first time I notice the shark tooth bracelet I gifted to him all those years ago. "I've never stopped thinking of you, Y/N," he breathes, pulling me to my feet and into his chest.
A/N: Sorry it took so long to get this chapter out. I did link the song mentioned in the header after the photo. In case you want to know what the boys are wearing the photo below is what I was imagining while writing this but didn't write out because I could spend forever on details and then the chapter would be so so so long.
