"Master the stroke." Wind said. "Each person has a different preferred hand position. If you are right-handed, hold the base of the stick with your right hand and rest the narrow end on your left. If you are left-handed, do the opposite."

"I'm doing it since day one, Mister." I rolled my eyes at him.

"I have a question," umayos muna ako ng tayo. "What can you suggest for a good hand position? You know, I'm having a hard time now that I did some changes." Tukoy ko sa aking plangketa.

"For a good hand position, try putting your index finger on the top of the stick, curving it, and put your thumb at the bottom of the stick. This is a good, basic way to put your hand in position because you have total control of the stick. Hold it tight as well."

Ginawa ko naman ang sinabi niyang iyon. Sinubukan kong ikulong ang tako ko sa pagitan ng dalawang daliri ko ngunit sadyang napakahirap niyon para sa akin. Maganda sana ang posisyong iyon para mas mapatigas ko ang plangketa ko pero talagang naninibago pa ako.

"Parang mas mahirap naman yata?" Reklamo ko.

"That's pretty basic."

"Then experiment with a few positions to see what yields the best results." Then he smirked.

"You're a big help, thank you." I put a sarcasm on it.

Mas pinili ko na lang ang nauna kong plangketa kaysa sa itinuro niya. Pag-uwi ko sa bahay ay maghahanap ako sa internet ng mas madaling hand position. Hindi ko kailangan ang tulong ng bwisit na ito.

Inis akong tiningnan siya.

"Aim to make sure you'll hit the ball."

"Sounds easy, huh?"

"As a beginner, focus on hitting the cue ball straight and with power."

"Hindi ito kasing dali lang ng sinasabi mo!"

"That's why I'm teaching you."

"At niyayabangan mo rin ako."

"I don't know what you're talking about."

"Bastard." Bulong ko tsaka umiwas ng tingin sa kaniya.

"What? Stop calling me names."

"I don't know what you're talking about." Ibinalik ko lang sa kaniya ang pagmamaang-maangan niya.
