"Hey Logan?" Patton approached the logical side as he was surveying the upstairs bathroom's cleanliness, trying to determine whether Thomas needed to redo his previous cleaning job; too lost in thought, he didn't acknowledge Patton.
"Logan?" Patton repeated himself a little louder and the side jumped slightly, turning around.
"Oh..! Patton," He cleared his throat. "I apologize for my slight reaction to an unexpected approach, you caught me whilst I was lost in the string of thoughts that encompasses my mind when I am thinking; what is it?"
Patton blinked trying to cut down Logans sentence into one he could easily understand.
"Uhhh.." he droned and Logan frowned.
"Please, I do not have all day."
Patton looked at his feet embarrassed.
"I just- I'm worried about tonight, and Deceit- and Virgil.. and Thomas.. and- well, I wanted to know what you thought about it all and if what we're doing... is the right thing..?" Patton asked uncertainly, glancing up; Logan's eyebrows furrowed.
"You said yourself Patton that what we're doing is morally correct as long as our mutuals do not figure out our preplanned falsehoods.. I am confused as to why you are asking me for reassurance.."
Patton sighed with a shrug, looking away and starting to nervously play with his cardigan sleeves.
"I guess.. it's because lying isn't good... I know I said it was technically morally correct but thats only if our friends don't find out.. but that wouldn't change the fact that we lied.. and lying is wrong.."
Logan narrowed his eyes.
"Have you spoken to Virgil, recently?"
Patton glanced to Logan in confusion; why was that important?
"Umm.. Yeah.. He approached me and asked about my thoughts.. Why..?"
Logan sighed and readjusted his glasses."Virgil has been.. unstable, recently.. He keeps switching his opinions back and forth and has ultimately been... needlessly- confusing..!" He shook his head, exasperated.
"I don't know what to think at this point, he's so unpredictable and in all honesty, I cannot trust a word he says right now."
Patton flinched.
"Logan..! How can you say that?" He asked his eyes wide.
Logans frown deepened.
"How can I not? Patton, you must see it too. I know you aren't the most... observant to these things, and I don't blame you- it's just your nature; you are too trusting."
Patton opened his mouth to protest but Logan continued.
"But you must have seen how weird Virgil's been acting recently, yes? It all started with him and the play rehearsal not long ago. He was so quick to insist on leaving early before then not wanting to go; he overwhelmed himself and shut down causing Thomas to grow panicked. Then the first ghost appeared, Virgil being the first to take notice and say something, and after that he immediately played blame on Deceit! Virgil lacked any evidence and made an illogical accusation further proving his tendency to jump to conclusions which both I and him have gone over once before. And then-" Logan stopped midst the middle of his explanation, glancing away with a frown; Patton looked to him expectantly.
"And then...?" He asked and the teacher sighed looking back to him.
"Remember when you all came looking for me.. and supposedly Virgil forced all of you to step out of the room, and we both experienced those strange shadow abominations?"
