Unfinished Work

Gabriella returned to home base safely where she witnessed her big sister being worked on by Sara and a hologram of Zero.

"You should be up and going after a few hours or so, you just need time to recover." Zero says as his hologram vanishes.

"Well, at least I can still hunt for mavericks alongside my little sister." Christine says. "Let's see what you've processed for the maverick hunters over there." And with that, Christine and Gabriella slot their chips into the computer for Zero and Iris to analyze. Taking note into the pan that the maverick chef used and the knife that made up her main weapon, the new data was put into the chips before being sent back to Christine and Gabriella. This time, Christine saw a physical change when she got her new chip- the Z-saber split into two individual blades, making for twice the cutting action, before she put them back into one again. "That's pretty cool!"

"And this pan... I could use it to gather energy and throw it right back at the mavericks!" Gabriella says, and suddenly, Sara's screen starts going nuts. "Speak of the devil!"

"We've got a disturbance at... Bow Blader's former location! Looks like a weapon is being reactivated!" Sara exclaims.

"I thought I destroyed it!" Gabriella says, shocked.

"Either you didn't or they rebuilt it. Quick! Head over and see what's going on!" Sara says, and Gabriella is quickly teleported over. Saving her any frustrations, Gabriella has been teleported directly to the area where she fought Bow Blader, and it's clear that somebody has been working on that weapon. He sports purplish-blue armor with bits of yellow and red, has a helmet that completely masks his face except for a visor that's shaped something like a T or a Y, has a large cannon and a missile pack built into his shoulders and has one glowing red eye.

"Who are you?!" Gabriella asks.

"Who am I? Do you not remember me X? Oh wait... You're not him... I should be asking you that question..." The reploid says as he takes to the air via jet boots.

"I'm Gabriella, and what may you be doing here?" Gabriella asks.

"I'm Vile, and I intend to reactivate this weapon after you destroyed it's owner!" Vile replies. "Whatcha gonna do about it?"

"I'm going to make sure you don't bring it online! That's what!" Gabriella shouts.

"All bark and no bite, let's see how you really fight!" Vile laughs. "Eat this!" Vile shouts as he fires plasma shots from his cannon. Gabriella dodges out of the way and uses the newly acquired pot, with her X-buster bearing a fork and knife symbol. Gabriella produces the same pot that Skillet Master used and Vile fires some homing missiles! Gabriella catches all of them in the pot and releases them all back at the maverick! He goes down for a few seconds before flying back up again, firing a blast of napalm from his knee! Gabriella barely avoids the flames as Vile fires more cannon shots. "Hold still dagnab it!" Vile shouts as he forces his hand out and fires off vulcan bullets!

"WHOA!" Gabriella shouts as she dodges out of the way and switches to the clef shot. Firing the octave clef at Vile, she manages to tie up the maverick with the clef and she slams him right into the weapon that the maverick was precariously fixing. Retracting the clef and switching to her normal X-buster, she waits for Vile to get out of the rubble and charges up a shot.

"...She can charge her shots as well? You gotta be kidding me!" Vile says in disbelief as he gets hit in the face with a charged shot. Vile goes flying and his face meets the wall, hitting it with a resounding smack and causing Gabriella to cringe before he slowly peels off of the wall and tumbles around a little bit before he faceplants. "Guahh... Why is the world spinning?" Vile mumbles as he slowly gets back up.

"Enjoy the trip?" Gabriella jokes.

"This... Isn't the last you've seen of me- URP!" Vile cuts himself off as his red eye stops glowing. "I think I'm gonna be sick!" Luckily he spares Gabriella the disgust and teleports off to do just that. With that ordeal done, Gabriella teleports back to give everyone the news. X and Zero spit out their drinks and Iris looks shocked when Gabriella says the name Vile.

"VILE?! Here?!" X asks, flabbergasted. "I thought we destroyed him!"

"Apparently not, because he's back." Gabriella replies.

"Just be on the lookout for him. He's really weak against charged shots so use that to your advantage." X says.

"I already did. The one time I shot him with one... Here I'll just show you what happened." Gabriella replies, slotting her chip in for X and Zero to review. Sure enough it shows how much weaker Vile had gotten versus a charged shot, and Zero and X couldn't help but laugh their butts off.

"The way he flew into the wall!" Zero laughs.

"Oh and apparently he almost got sick on the spot!" X guffaws. After their laugh fest ends, Gabriella gets her chip back and the hunters disengage for now, leaving the hunters to continue to rid the world of maverick control.
