Christine and Gabriella were teleported just outside of Jack's base. The doors had already been blasted open from Christine's previous intrusion and any mavericks that would have come out to attack must have retreated when their battle began.

"Should be a cinch now. Let's just hope we can save Sara." Christine says as she and Gabriella slowly move around the base, cautious in avoiding all of the traps. As they progress further into the base, they spot something strange.

"That's... Net Wracker!" Christine says, recognizing the black and green colors of the resurrected maverick.

"I got this." Gabriella says. "We know their weaknesses so this should be a cinch." And with that, Gabriella fires off her distortion powder, causing Net Wracker to begin glitching so much that she destroys herself. "Wha- she was only a copy!"

"And the others are probably like that too. Whatever Jack is planning, he may just be trying to waste our time." Christine hypothesizes as Black Phantom emerges. Gabriella fires the octave clef just like the last time the two fought, and she slams the maverick necromancer's head into the ground with a good pull, and she explodes not too long after. As if those two weren't enough, Magna Knight and Laughing Joss emerge to attack the two.

"Huh, I never got to test that ability I got from Rocket Baller. Might as well try it now." Gabriella says as she fires what looks like a bouncy ball. It ricochets all over the walls and eventually it hits Magna Knight in the face, exploding as it does so and causing the maverick knight to see stars before passing out and exploding. Gabriella then fires the steal shot, and this one drains Laughing Joss completely as she slumps to the ground before exploding.

"Now where could Sara be?" Christine asks out loud.

"Right here!" Sara's voice calls out as she bursts through a wall. Sara has maintained her overall appearance, not even looking like a reploid, but the wolverine-style laser claws jutting from her knuckles and her blood red eyes- the same color when Christine went maverick- tell a different story.

"Sara?!" Christine asks.

"Yeah it's me, what do you want?" Sara says, snarling at Christine. "If it's to come home, I'm no longer in the mood. I've been given orders to terminate you, and I will do that by any means possible."

"No! You're my friend and I... Ah screw it if you're not going to come home on your own accord, I'm going to do it by force!" Christine shouts out as she readies her saber, the purple blade back once more, and Gabriella readies her buster. Sara wildly charges at Gabriella, landing multiple slashes on the blue hunter before Gabriella fires a fully charged shot at her face. "Don't destroy her! I think we can return her to normal somehow!"

"I'll try not to but it'll be hard!" Gabriella shouts back as Sara targets Christine.

"I don't want to fight you!" Christine shouts, grabbing ahold of Sara's arms and holding her back.

"THEN I'LL MAKE YOU!" Sara screams as she kicks Christine in the breasts. Christine goes down and finds herself in pain from the dirty move as Sara dashes towards Gabriella. "DIE!"

"Oh god!" Gabriella shouts as she avoids a flurry of slashes.

"Time to get serious!" Sara shouts as she starts slashing the air, releasing waves with every one. Gabriella takes a few hits but she is unscathed for the most part.

"Christine! I think she's too far gone! We have to destroy her!" Gabriella shouts at Christine as she recovers. She continues to shoot at Sara, wearing her energy down with every shot.

"I don't want to do this, but I must!" Christine shouts back as she ignites her Z-saber, deflects all of the slash waves thrown at her by Sara, and lands a fiery slash, leaving a giant gash from Sara's right shoulder down to her left hip. That one hit is all it takes for Sara to start exploding, and Gabriella and Christine dive out of the way as the blinding flash engulfs the room! When the sisters can see again, Christine only sees a barely conscious Sara. She's lost her left arm and her right leg, and wires stick out, revealing that Sara's maverick state was an inside job- she looked human on the outside but she was clearly turned into a reploid. "...Sara!" Christine says as she rushes over to see if she's okay. Gabriella only gets up and stands off to the side to see what happens as Sara opens her eyes.

"...Christine..." Sara says weakly as Christine helps her back onto her sole foot. Sara's eyes are back to normal, and her claws are gone, but the giant gash has stayed.

"I'm so, so sorry that I had to do that..." Christine replies, letting Sara lean into her for support. "I had no choice... It was either that or you were going to kill both of us..."

"I know that..." Sara says. "I... Tried to fight the influence... But it was too strong... I feel like it's my fault... For winding up like this..."

"Sara don't blame yourself like that. I never liked it when you did." Christine says, grabbing Sara's hand. "We'll get you back to our base, or rather what's left of it, and we can tend to you there."

"No... It's too late for me..." Sara says, squeezing Christine's hand. "...There's no way I'm going to survive... Not like this..."

"No. No no no no no no no, you are not dying here, I'm making sure of that." Christine replies, trying to keep her composure as she squeezes Sara's hand in return. Sara attempts to return it, but she's become too weak. Sensing this, Christine slowly helps Sara to the ground so she doesn't drop her. "Please don't die... I'm begging you..."

"I'm... Sorry..." Sara says, reaching out for Christine. Christine clasps Sara's extended hand with her own and they stare into each other's eyes. "I... Never got to say this before... I thought It'd be... Too sensitive for the others... But... I... Love you..."

"...You couldn't have said it earlier? I had a crush on you since I saved you... And now you're dying..." Christine says, tears beginning to flow.

"I... Know... Heh heh... Goodbye... Christine..." Sara says before she goes limp. Her eyes shut for good, and her hand slumps to the floor.

"Sara!" Christine says, gently shaking her and hoping to get something, anything from her, but alas, it's too late. "No..." Gabriella can only watch in sorrow as Christine picks up Sara's dead body, collapses onto her knees and screams. "NO! WHY DID THIS HAVE TO HAPPEN?! WHY DO I HAVE TO LOSE SO MANY LOVED ONES?! FIRST JACK, THEN ALL OF MY FRIENDS, AND NOW YOU!?! WHA- WHAT AM I FIGHTING FOOOOORRRR?!?!?!?!?!"
