Epilogue

When Iris reached Christine and Gabriella's home, their parents were waiting. When the two got out, they hugged their parents tightly.

"We did it! We saved the world!" Christine says cheerfully. When they let go, Christine and Gabriella turn to Iris. "I assume you have to go back to your time?"

"Not just yet. When I told everyone back at HQ that you had just defeated Sigma's lap dog, they were totally ecstatic. They're actually here right now!" Iris replies as she leads the two into their house. There, X and Zero await.

"We can't thank you enough." X and Zero say to Gabriella and Christine respectively. "You've saved your time and ours. Had Sigma been successful in his plan to take over your time, we would never be around to start."

"When you need heroes to step up, we'll be those heroes." Gabriella replies valiantly.

"You guys actually did so well that you've amazed our higher ranking officers." Zero says. "I've spoken with your parents, and they're leaving it up to you to decide on signing this document." And with that, Iris hands Christine and Gabriella said document.

To Christine and Gabriella...

We have seen more than enough of your hard work out in the battlefield. You've made progress and achievements that even X and Zero are capable of, and you've saved your time, and subsequently our time as well. With that we give you a decision to make. You can either:

-stay in your time and we can wipe your memory just of this event. Nobody really knew that it was you two in that armor, and if you value a more private life, we won't stop you.

-or join us in our time as fully fledged maverick hunters. When you and your little sister have gone through your time at college, you will be teleported to our time where you'll go through some extra training to become true maverick hunters.

Remember, the choices are yours and yours alone.

Please mark your choice and sign so we know what to do.

Christine and Gabriella are blown away by the second decision.

"Wait... Join you guys?" Christine asks.

"Remember, only you two can decide on it." X says. "Nothing is going to stop you from choosing and carving your own path." The sisters think hard about this, but when the finally come to their decision, they have smiles on their faces as they mark the second decision and sign.

"We'll do it." Christine says. "We'll join the Maverick Hunters."

"Wonderful!" Iris says as she hugs the two. "We could always use some more help!"

"Mom, dad, thank you so much for everything. Once we go through college, we'll become true heroes!" Gabriella says as she and Christine hug their parents.

"You can even keep the armor in case any mavericks slipped by you." Zero says. "You can take it off almost like normal clothing." And with that, Christine and Gabriella gracefully take off the armor, leaving them in their normal clothes. Iris produces two armor racks where she helps the sisters set them on just in case they need to don it once more.

"Well, this is goodbye, for now." Iris and X say as Zero joins them and the sisters in a group hug before the Maverick Hunters of the future return to their time and the Maverick Hunters of the present go on about their daily lives, going through college and high school as if it was just another ordinary day. The world rebuilt itself after the maverick invasion pretty quickly and it wasn't long before peace was restored to this time. When Christine completed her round in college, she waited for Gabriella to complete her round, and when they were both ready, the portal that took the sisters to the future opened up once more. Christine and Gabriella donned their armor as X and Zero happily approached them.

"Are you ready?" Zero asks.

"More than ready." Christine replies as the sisters enter the portal. They find themselves in Maverick Hunter HQ where a high ranking reploid approaches them.

"I've heard many, many great things about you, such as saving your time and ours in turn." The reploid says. "I'm Commander Signas."

"Christine and Gabriella at your service." Christine says, shaking his hand.

"Come with me. We need to get you two more personalized armor." X says, ushering them over. Like one man once said: Sometimes, the end of one story is just the beginning of another, and then the end of that one will open up yet another, almost like an infinite novel that will only reach it's close when you meet your creator.
