"Lacey. Maybe you should go and look for Theo." Scott said.
We are still in the tunnels.
Brett is still missing.
My boyfriend is still missing.
My ex-boyfriend is still hovering.
This is great.
"I am not going anywhere until Brett is found." I felt Lories feeling change as I said those words. A sense of warmth flew over her body.
Turning a tunnel, we began walking down a narrow tube. Because that's practically what these things are, just big tubes.
Something feels wrong though. Walking down these tunnels. This one in particular. It doesn't feel right.
I started looking around, to see if there were any people down here with us.
No one.
Looking around some more, I started to skim over the walls and floors.
A few feet ahead of us pinned slightly above the ground, was a tiny looking string. That ran from one wall to the other.
And Lorie was about to walk right into it.
"Lorie no!" I shouted, but Lorie was too late. In a matter of seconds, her feet pushed against the thin trip wire and wooden stakes immediately flung out from small openings in the wall.
I ran as fast as I could and pushed her out of the way.
I could feel the wooden stakes leaving splinters through my body as they dig deeper into me.
"Lacey!" I could hear everyone shouting. But body was just thrown into the wall behind me as I sunk to the floor with my back pressed against the cold and damp cement.
"Son of a bitch.." I muttered, trying to get out the stakes. But i could feel that there were sticks sticking out on the sides of them which contained wolfs bane. It won't kill me, but it is going to make it extremely difficult for me to try and pull them out.
"Oh my gosh! Lacey I-.. I'm so sorry! I- I swear I didn't see it!" Lorie was pacing back and forth as her hands ran through her long blonde locks.
"Lorie, it's o-Okay..." I spoke out, taking in deep breaths. Malia and Scott were at my side right away and tried to aid me in pulling the stakes out.
"Okay, Lace. This is going to hurt. Like a lot." Scott said. I simply nodded at them, and both Scott and Malia grabbed ahold of a stake and pulled them out at the same time.
A scream escaped from my throat but was muffled by Liams jacket, that Liam was using to quiet me down.
Normally that would have made me upset, but right now, that's exactly what he needed to do.
"Lace. These things were traced with wolfs bane.." Scott said, holding up one of the stakes.
A look of worry immediately crossed Liams face as he looked down at me and kneeled. His eyes were roaming my body as if he could do something to help. But really he couldn't, there was nothing he could do.
"Guys. D-don't worry. I'll heal. Remember what Deaton said when I f-first got powers... he said that only one thing can kill me. And this-.." I said, grabbing the wooden stake from Malia's hand.
"Isn't it." I finished off.
"Guys. I'm really sorry but I need to find my brother." Lorie said in a panic.
"Calm down. We will find him, I'll go with you." Liam said.
Nuh uh. Bad Idea.
"No. You two aren't going anywhere. Someone had to have set this trap up. Which means that we are dealing with hunters. You guys have no idea what hunters are capable of." Scott said.
I don't believe i have ever went face to face with a real hunter.
I mean sure.
Yes I went up against assassins, but that was different. Those were just random ass people who wanted money.
Hunters are dangerous. They don't have to get money out of it. They just want supernatural creatures dead. That's all. And a person with motives like that is a hard person to stop.
