"No... no. She's not.. my daughter."
Well shit, now I feel bad. Course I hated this teacher but doesn't mean her daughter deserved to die. This is just sad.
"T-this.. this doesn't make any sense. They were just hiding in the woods, they were just scared.. h-how could she have no face?" Mrs.Finch looked at Scott, casually turning her head between Liam and I as well.
"That's what it does. It's finds a body and takes its face, takes it DNA. Everything." Liam said.
"Not my daughter..." she sobbed, walking passed all of us and slowly leaning her back legs against the desk.
"...not my daughter."
I turned my head to look over at Liam. He didn't seem to sad for the teacher, he seemed more upset about the young girl dying. I can't blame him I guess. She did let two guys kick his eyes and mine. But I can't help but feel horrible for the both of them.
"There's a way to find out..." Liam said
She looked up at him. Only him.
"What?"
"There is someone or something hunting for someone like her." He said
"I-I don't understand.." she said.
"If she shows up... you'll know what happened to your family. And you'll see what happened to your daughter. Your actual daughter."
Her face broke down as she had just realized what the two were suggesting. Even I just realized it.
"If you what, I'll do it for you.." Liam offered, teaching his hands out to her as she stared at the floor.
She blinked a few times and let a tear splash on the floor, then slowly handed the phone over to Liam.
He took it as she walked over near Scott.
Liam flipped the phone open and started to go to the contact saved.
As he landed on the contact name, I immediately got confused. But in Liams head it clicked.
"That's the name?"
He looked at her.
"That's your daughters name?" He asked.
Mrs.Finch looked up at Liam and nodded.
"Her name is Gwen. My daughters name is Gwen."
Scott's face changed as his jaw practically dropped.
Wait... isn't the girl who was at the station while Monroe and all of her goons were locking it down named Gwen?....
ooooohhhhhhhh shit.
"Gwen is your daughter?" Scott asked, turning her around by the shoulder.
Now she looked confused.
"Do you know her?"
He nodded.
"Yeah. She came to us after being attacked..."
Just then, a screech came in from the hallways. It sounded as if it was right next to my ear. I had to press down against them and squeeze against my own head as hard as I could...
"Lacey?" I could hear Liam asking, but his voice wasn't exactly making things easier. In fact, his voice seemed louder too.
"Is that her? Is that my daughter?" Mrs.Finch asked, not at the least bit concerned about my current state and moving over to Scott. Who seemed particularly focused on me.
"That's not your daughter!" I screamed, but in all honesty, I thought I was talking normally.
"It's the anuk-ite. I can feel it. Both halves are here." I said, letting go of my head and standing up as straight as I possibly could.
"Are you sure?" Scott asked, in which he earned a nod.
Another screech and I stumbled on the floor.
It's like it's screams echoed in my head, having the most sensitive hearing in the world.
"It's messing with me right now..." I said, Liam seemed taken back which made me believe that I had screamed again.
Another screech, and I'm on the floor now. Clutching my head and trying to scratch the noises away.
"What do we do?" I could hear Liam panic through the screams
"We fight!" Scott replied.
I tried to open my eyes and saw them both walking toward the door, getting ready to attack whatever came through...
Where's Mrs.Finch?
I turned my head at the slightest to look around the room, and landed my eyes on her bringing over the chalk eraser with the wolfsbane on it, headed straight for Liam and Scott.
"Look out!" I said, they both turned around just as she had whipped the eraser around both of their heads, forcing the powder to be sucked into their breaths.
Scott and Liam burst into a coughing fit, getting lower to the ground as Mrs.Finch clawed at the door handle and ran through it, disappearing into the hallways.
"Scott? Liam?" I asked, I wasn't even sure how loud I was. It felt like my head was out of my body. Like I could hear myself from someone else's ears.
I leaned forward and pushed myself up, crawling over to Scott and Liam.
"Guys? Hey!" I said, reaching over and patting them on the back as if water had gone down the wrong pipe.
"We need to get up, she's gonna die if she finds Gwen, come on." I said, clinging to the lab tables and trying my best to pull myself up.
Another screech.
And I tumble.
"L-Lacey?" I hear. I try to push my eyes open but the pain forces them shut.
"Come on Lacey." I hear again.
I pry my eyes open and see both boys looking at me, coming closer. They both seem better now, but are still coughing a little.
"Come on, we gotta go." Liam says as they both lean down and wrap each arm around their shoulders, letting my feet drag as they walk through the hallways.
"Left... she went left.." I say as my head bounces in different directions from trying to keep it up.
They both turn left and we head down the hall.
Flashes of fear suddenly appear in the pit of my stomach that urges me to gasp.
"Lacey? What happened?" Scott asks me as they both stop walking.
I study on the tiled floors.
"I.. I think Mrs.Finch found Gwen..."
They both share a look then continue walking down the hallway but faster this time.
Then the strength surges through my body,
My feet hit the floor and both Scott and Liam are yanked back by my sudden stop.
"Ahhh, Jesus." Liam rubbed his shoulder from where I had accidentally pulled back.
This seemed strange. To be useless and in pain and the next second be completely energized.
"Somethings wrong."
I looked down at my arms as my eyes started to shift to X-Ray. I could see my bones, all in black in white, but the muscles and veins of my body started to flash by too.
"Somethings happening!"
"What's going on?" Liam asked, although I wasn't sure if it was aimed towards me or Scott.
I looked up at the two of them and saw the same things. Bones and muscles, no actual face.
I could actually see their heart beating and pumping blood through their body.
"It's the anuk-ite."
And cue another screech.
Only this time it didn't take me down, it made me armed.
Bolts of electricity started to circle and spiral around and through my body.
"Lacey what the hell are you doing?" Liam screamed at me, but I had no answer.
Because I don't know what the fuck I'm doing.
It was like my body was remaking still in order to gain power and energy.
I stood there as Scott and Liam dared to get closer.
"Lacey, it's in your head. It's messing with you. You need to control your powers okay. You need to fight it."
I tried to focus, shutting my eyes and clenching my teeth in attempt to stop and absorb the electricity back in, but it wouldn't work.
Instead, I felt something slash the side of my neck.
I screamed and let go of the bolts. Shooting them straight towards Liam and Scott without wanting too at all.
I swear
