Chapter 4: Mr. Hyde

Heidi's POV

I walk into a large living room as Mr. Hyde closes the double doors. "You believe that you have a multiple living inside of you?" Mr. Hyde asks looking at me up and down with a mix of curiosity and unsure in his eyes. "A friend of mine named Mark told me to seek you out when I returned to the isle, and he also said that you would be able to help me." Mr. Hyde inclines his head but I am not sure why which leaves me wondering if maybe he knew who Mark was. "Tell me dear, tell me everything." slowly let out a shaky breath feeling nervous about talking about his. "I started losing time where I will be in one place wearing one outfit and suddenly I am in a completely different place wearing a different outfit." Mr. Hyde looks at almost with sympathy in his eyes. "I find myself walking in this endless forest just trying to find a way out, and when I do it is not long until I find myself trapped back in the forest." Mr. Hyde clears his throat before he starts talking. "Has there been any significant stress in the important parts of your life?" I slowly nod my head thinking of all that has happened since Chris's curse was broken. "My marriage has started to fall apart, I feel like I am failing my son as his mother, my friends say that I have been acting more like a girl from Isle then the girl that they have come to know, and I wouldn't think of telling anyone about what is going on with me." I can feel the tears filling my eyes as everything I have been holding in starts to erupt from inside. "I feel like I am screaming for help but no one hears me, like I am just a shadow never again to been seen or heard." Mr. Hyde slowly reaches over wiping away the tears that fall from eyes. "Let out dear one, you have been through so much that I feel that you had to be there for others but haven't had time to be there for yourself." I let of a loud painful scream as I fall to the ground letting everything out that has been bottled up since the curse was broken, and it is a lot. Mr. Hyde stands behind me as start calm down and gather myself. "Now, how do you feel?" I wipe my eyes as I look back at him. "I feel a little bit better." Mr. Hyde holds his hand out to me as I take it and he helps me back to his feet. "What happens when this other personality takes over?" I just shrug my shoulders at him unsure of what he really wants to know. "I am not sure, but I do know that she is very destructive, and has gone to great lengths to make sure that she lives on while I am lost forever." My Hyde smiles at me as a chuckle escapes his lips. "You have seen her?" I nod my head remembering the time in the salon. "I saw her inside a large mirror after I saw my husband about to have sex with another woman." The look in Mr. Hyde's eyes go dark as he his face goes hard like stone. "She came to you in your time of need, when you were vulnerable and your defenses were down." I let out a little laugh because it now made sense as to why she showed up. "I thought she was supposed to protect me, but instead all she did was taunt me until I found myself on the other side of the mirror." Mr. Hyde seemed interested in this. "You were inside the mirror?" I look at my reflection in the large mirror in the room as Mr. Hyde looks at it too. "I could see her, I could see what she was doing, and we interacted with each other up until she walked out and I ended up in the endless forest." My Hyde grabs my arm and turns me to face him. "You have started to learn co consciousness with your other half." I pull my arm away from him. "What are you talking about?" Hyde hurries over to his large bookcase and pulls out a dusty looking journal. "It means that you are aware of this alter, you can see her, hear her, and without the ability to influence the behavior of her." I look at Mr. Hyde like he has lost his mind, which is a common look here on the Isle. "You said that your alter wanted a way to get rid of you while she lives on?" I nod my head unsure what Hyde is getting too. "That is impossible for one cannot live without the other, if she kills you she would be killing herself, that is unless she has managed to track down the serum that split me and my other half, and that is the only way she can get what she wants." I remember my conversation with Dr. Facilier about the serum that separated Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. "What exactly is it?" Mr. Hyde opens the book and pushes the book towards me. "It was made with dark magic for the purpose of dividing the light and dark in a person." I look down at the pages in front of my noticing that it was the journal of Dr. Jekyll. "Whatever happened to Dr. Jekyll?" A smile slowly appears on the face of the man in front of me. "He is never far away, only because a long time ago I found out a horrible truth, and I am sure that it is something that you nor your other half have learned just yet." All of a sudden I hear this ringing in my ears and my vision got cloudy, I feel like I am walking in a fog, and just like that I look around to see that I am back in the forest which means my darker half has escaped.
