The Troubled Soul (Volume 1)

Chapter 18: Never Ending Nightmares.

Avador, Rose, and Violet were in Violet and Josh's room, along with Josh still sleeping on his bed. Rose and Violet were sitting in the chairs, almost asleep. Before they could though, Avador said one last thing.

Avador: Also, before we start, I will have to disable Josh's powers so just in case he freaks out in his sleep, he won't be able to use his powers and accidentally destroy something. Also, I guess I will come with you two to save Josh. After all, I can't have my human be in trouble and I not be there to at least help save him.

He then noticed Rose and Violet were now asleep, not knowing if they heard his warning or not, but not caring either way. He walks to Josh and placed his hand on his. Then, he closed his eyes as he began focusing.

Josh's mark began to darken, from a bright blood red, to pure black. Then Avador opened his eyes and took his hand off of Josh's hand. Then he looked back to Rose and Violet, with a determined expression, and stood in front of them.

Avador: Okay, now then, let's begin.

~Josh's Mind~

Scarlet had just disappeared, leaving Josh alone in his dream. With absolutely nothing to do now, he stood up and started walking around while thinking.

Josh: So, I've been sleeping for a year? I wonder, is this a dream? Because Mr. Jackal told me that you can only dream for ten seconds, so was he lying or is this a long dream? If this is a dream, then why is it not fun now? I thought dreams were fun.

Just then, Josh hears a door creak open.

Josh: Huh, hey?

All he heard in response was the silence of night. So, with him now being curious, he slowly walked towards the door.

Josh: Umm, hey, is somebody there?

Nothing but silence again, so Josh slowly made his way to the door, and stepped inside.

Josh: Hey, is somebody-

Before he could finish, the door slammed shut behind him, making him jump and face the door. Next, the lights came on in the room. When Josh turned towards the lights...he saw somebody lying on the ground, clearly needing help.

So being to good person Josh is, he ran over to the person on the ground, trying his best to help them. The person had his back facing Josh, and Josh didn't want to be rude and move him.

Josh: Hey, hey, are you okay?

Nothing but silence again.

Josh: Come on, wake up! I can help you!

Silence, again. Josh was beginning to think that maybe he was too late to help them.

Josh:...Hey, are you okay?

Then he heard the person murmur something.

Josh: I'm sorry, I didn't hear you. Can you talk a little louder, please?

Again, all he heard was a murmur.

Josh: Please talk louder, I can't help you if I can't hear you.

Then, he heard the man clearly. But he couldn't shake the feeling, that he knew the man.

???: I said, Josh...you can't help me.

Josh grew a little angry at this, he wanted to help even if there was nothing he could do.

Josh: No, I will help you!

???: You can't help anybody, Josh.

Josh: What do you mean? I want to help everybody.
