The Troubled Soul (Volume 1)

Chapter 17: Almost There.

Rose and Violet are sitting in the same room as they are always in. Rose, with her hand on Josh's right hand as she had her eyes closed. Violet, sitting on the edge of Josh's bed, paying close attention to what Rose was doing.

Violet: So, do you really think we can get Avador to come to us?

Rose: I don't know, but I think he will.

Violet: Why do you think that?

Rose: Because, like I showed you before, I have the same symbol as Josh does. Avador sounded interested in it, like it was really important. So, I think, if I call him then he will come.

Violet: And if he doesn't?

Rose:...Then we find another way.

Violet: Why not just force him to come?

Rose: That was very stupid of you to say.

Violet: Oh, and why is that, "genius"?

Rose: Two reasons. One, do you really want to force him here? A demon that could kill us in one hit?

Violet: Well...no.

Rose: Exactly, and number two. If we did force him, and he for some reason didn't kill us, do you really think he would want to help us if we had just forced him here?

Violet:...No.

Rose: Exactly, so please, be quiet, and let me focus here.

Violet: Okay, okay, geez, you don't have to be so mean about it.

Rose practically jumped to her feet, now facing and glaring at Violet, filled with anger and sadness.

Rose: Oh, well I'm sorry, but lately, I have been trying my hardest to control my powers! Not to mention, Josh has been in a coma for nearly a year! Oh, and let's not forget that I have been trying, practically none stop, to find a way to wake up Josh! And ever since we found a way, you have been rushing me and complaining when I mess up on something! Oh, and I have to focus on my powers so that I don't hurt Josh again, it's bad enough I already put him into a coma, I don't want to hurt him again! So SORRY for getting "mean" about it!

Violet:...I'm sorry, I didn't know you were handling all of that. If you would like, I will stop talking.

Rose: Thank you, now please, let me focus.

Violet: Okay.

Rose then sat back down and held Josh's right hand with her left hand. Then she closed her eyes and gently placed her forehead on his, mentally praying to herself that this would work.

Rose: Avador, if you can hear me, or if this is even working, then...we need your help. I don't know how to put myself inside Josh's head, and I'm afraid that I'll hurt him even more. So please Avador, me and Violet need your help to get into Josh's dream, and I need to know how to wake him up. Please, Avador...I need to save him...please.

They waited for five minutes, only to not see him. No smoke, no glowing symbol, no anything. No sign of him coming to help them.

Violet: I guess it didn't work.

Rose: Or he just didn't want to help.

Violet: That too. Well, do you know why he might not want to help?

Rose: I don't know, maybe he is scared of Scarlet or what Josh might be dreaming.

Violet: Wait, you met Scarlet too?

Rose: Well...not exactly. I mean, I know that she is one of Josh's Companions but-

Violet: What?! Scarlet is Josh's Companion?!
