The Troubled Soul (Volume 1)

Chapter 25: Kallie.

Josh had just closed the door to the orphanage, but then he felt a strange feeling imitating from his right hand.

{Aura: What the heck is that? Do you feel that too?}

Once again, he ignored her. But he noticed that the back of his right hand was glowing pink, just enough to see through the glove. Then he heard Mr. Jackal's voice.

Mr. Jackal: Come on Josh, we're all already in the van!

Josh: I'm coming!

He quickly put his hand in his pocket, scared of his secret being revealed to his friends. When he got in the van, he sat next to Violet, still with his hand in his pocket. As soon as he sat down, Violet asked him a question with a serious tone of voice.

Violet: Josh, what did Rose say to you?

Josh: I can't tell you.

Violet: What? Why not?

Josh: She made me promise not to tell anybody.

Violet: Oh come on, you can tell me. You know I won't tell anybody.

Josh: But if I tell you, then I would break a promise to one of my best friends.

Mr. Jackal: Come on Violet, it's rude to try and invade somebody's privacy.

Sam: Yeah, that's not very nice.

She decided not to push it, she knew Josh well enough to know that if he said he was going to do something for a friend, then he would do it.

Violet: Josh may be innocent, childish, really cute, and really naive for his age, but he would never break a promise or hurt a friend. But that's just another one of the many reasons why I love him.

That's when an idea popped into Violet's head.

Violet: Hmm...I wonder. He is very naive, but in a very adorable and cute way. I wonder...I wonder if I can use that to my advantage. After all, he loves attention, hugs, and being around me. So...maybe this will work.

Violet: Hey Josh.

Josh: Yeah Violet?

Violet: Do you think...we could start...cuddling and snuggling?

Mr. Jackal: Aww, you two are very cute together, I hope you know that.

Sam: Ewww, cuddling with a girl?! No thank you, I would rather sleep in dirt!

Mr. Jackal: Haha, I love that you are like most boys your age, Sam.

Josh then gave her a very confused expression as he cocked his head a little. Violet took this as a bad sign and started to panic a little.

Violet: Oh I'm sorry! I shouldn't have asked you that! What was I thinking?! I'm so sorry, I should never have asked you that! I mean, you probably don't even want to cuddle or snuggle anyways!

Josh only gave her an even more confused look.

Violet: Umm, Josh, are you okay?

Josh: Yeah, I'm fine.

Sam: Then why do you keep making that confused face?

Josh: Because I don't know what cuddling and snuggling is.

This shocked everybody in the van. Mr. Jackal nearly slammed the brakes in surprise. Sam just looked at him like he was crazy. Violet just gave him a look like she didn't understand him.
