They said that you wouldn't be able to see the color that was soulmates eyes until you made eye-contact with them. And it was for that reason, a boy known as Nagito Komaeda, made sure to never look into anyone's eyes.
He thought of himself so badly that he was certain his soulmate would hate him. So to avoid ever finding them, he never looked into anyone's eyes. He 'd wear dark sunglasses wherever he went. The sunglasses were so dark no one could see his eyes. That way, he figured, if he did by chance look into his soul mates eyes, they couldn't see his. Then, they'd never have to deal with him.
He believed that his soulmate would find another, better love. It wasn't exactly unheard of. His own parents weren't even soulmates, yet they had the strong love and bond that soulmates would have. If they could find love, he believed that his destined lover would do fine with someone else.
Sometimes he'd wonder if he was selfish for his actions, but in the end, figured it was what was best for his soulmate. It's not like they'd long to see grey-green anywhere either.
One day, he was out with his friends Izuru, Hajime, Fuyuhiko, and Kazuichi. As much as he wouldn't admit it, he did have feelings for the spike-haired brunette, Hajime. But anything he felt he'd push down, believing the other boy had a destined one of his own that he'd gladly choose over him.
Despite this, there were times, during the night, the thought of the other boy possibly being his destined one would creep into his mind. But he'd shoo them all away before giving the idea a chance.

It would be so simple, wouldn't it? All he had to do was make eye contact, even for a second and he'd know.
At the same time, that's what was holding him back. There was a higher chance he'd see nothing. No new colors at all. He'd possibly even close himself up more.
None of the matter. After all, maybe one day, he'd try.
(sorry for the non-existent ending, I never got to finishing this so I just concluded it with a sentence)
