Chapter 4

Nicole

I woke up the next morning at 8:20 am. I got up brushed my teeth, took a shower and got dressed. I put on a black flowy tank top, white high waisted shorts, and black high top converse.

I got out of my room and went to Carly's room. She was sitting on her chair in the corner and staring at a wall. I turned on the lights and walked towards her. There was blood everywhere. She was holding a blade. I looked at her wrist and it bloody.

"Dammit Carly," I said. I got her up and took her to the kitchen sink.

"Carly you need to stop cutting," i said while rinsing off the blood from her wrist.

"I can't," she said.

"Yes you can," i said. I put a towel over her arm and got some bandaids. I put them where she cut.

"Easy for you to say you've been clean for so long," she said.

"Listen i just don't want you to be like me," I said.

"What do you mean?" she asked.

"I once tried to commit suicide," I said leaning back against the counter.

"Oh." she said.

"Anyways what do you want to do today?" I asked her.

"I want to go see the boys," she said.

"Ok but after you get dressed," i said.

"Ok," she said walking to the bathroom.

"I'll clean up your room," i said getting a bunch of sponges and paper towels.

I cleaned up all the blood and took the blades. I went into her drawer and took all the blades she had. I threw away the paper towels and went into the other bathroom. I flushed them down the toilet. I went back into the kitchen and turned on the news.

"Breaking news Derick Brookes just broke out of prison, sources tell us he's headed for San Francisco." The news lady said. I dropped the remote and fell to the ground.

"Hey hey guys look she's waking up," i heard someone say. My vision was blurry but then it focoused.

"What happened?" I asked sitting up.

"You fainted," a deep voice said. It was Kian.

"why did you faint?" Connor asked.

"My dad," I said.

"what about him," he said.

"He broke out of prison and is headed to San Francisco," i said. Kian hugged me tightly.

"We have to keep her and her mother safe," Carly said.

"No i have t go warn my mom and bring her to L.A," i said getting up.

"No you cant go over there your dad might be there already," Kian said getting up. Carly and connor also got up.

"Fine i'll call her," i said getting out my phone.

"Hello?" 'she said.

"hi mom," i said.

"Whats up?" she asked.

"Dad escaped," i said.

"No that can't be true," she said.

"Mom its true pack your bags i just booked you a flight to L.A," i said.

"Ok bye," she said.

I left the kitchen and went into my room. I layed down on my bed. The door opened i looked up and it was Kian.

We cuddled for a little and i fell asleep.

I woke up to Kian shaking me. "Wake up," he said softly.

I opened my eyes. I slept with my contacts on. I took them out and put on my glasses.

"Whats wrong," i said.

"Your mom's here," he said. I got up and went to the living room she was on the couch. She got up and gave me a tight hug.

"You can sleep in the guest room," I said.

"Actually i'm staying at a hotel," she said. My eyes widened.

"Mom, hotels will be the first place dad looks," i said.

"He's in San Francisco," she said, "Once he gets there the cops will get him and aresst him."

"Ok well be safe," i said.
