I woke up to my alarm beeping insanely. I groan and turn it off, pulling myself out of bed. I shuffled to the bathroom, deciding against a shower. I wasn't gonna try today. I'll wear old jeans and a sweatshirt with sneakers. I got dressed, running a brush through my teeth and mouth. (Different kinds of course.) I grabbed my bag from my desk and ran downstairs, my bag smacking my hip. I stopped in the kitchen, seeing the parents had stopped talking as soon as I walked in. There was a horn outside. "My rides here. Bye."
"But... Ian's your ride." My father said, glancing at me under his reading glasses.
"Ian can suck it."
"DOVE HANNAH REID!" My mother shrieked. "WATCH YOUR MOUTH BEFORE I SMACK IT OFF YOUR FACE!" I rolled my eyes.
"Sorry. Gotta Go. Bye." I walked out of the house and over to Olivia's car. It fit five people and three, soon to be four, seats would be filled. I opened the backseat and climbed in.
"Hey. We just have to get September." Olivia said, looking at me from the mirror. I gave her the thumbs up, sipping on the water I had grabbed. William was in the passenger seat and Robin and I were in the back. I smiled at her and leaned against the window.
"So how was the Devil?" William asked me, turned around in his seat.
"Um... I would say torture... but it wasn't. I got to sleep all day, throw milk at him, k..." I put my hands over my mouth. DON'T TELL THEM!
"Oh. Fun. He coming back today?"
"Sadly, yes." I looked at Olivia who had pulled up in front of a small, two story, white house. "Thanks for the ride today, but I'll probably never ask again. My parents won't let me." I mumbled. My door was thrown open and a bubbling September crawled over my lap.
"Hey!" She hugged me and buckled up quickly.
"When's your birthday, September." William asked.
"Uhh.... October." She said, pushing her bag to the floor of the car.
"But why's your name..."
"I don't even know. Anyone going to the winter formal?" Fuck. Everyone nodded. Except me.
"You aren't going, Dove?" Robin said.
"No. Nobody's asked me."
"You can give Ian another..."
"No. Unless he asks in some weird and funny but sweet way. No." I crossed my arms. He incapable of all of that. Exactly. We pulled into the school. I opened the door and hopped out. I hugged Olivia and Robin tightly, and even gave Will a short hug. I waved to September and ran into the school. I had to take care of our absences. I stopped at my locker to find it coated in roses, a spritz of cinnamon, and animals stickers. I opened my locker and found a folded up piece of paper. I opened it.
WILL YOU GO TO THE WINTER FORMAL WITH ME?~Ian.
I sighed. Give him a chance. He's so.... Idiotic, stupid, moronic, egotistical, annoying? Yes. But...
Someone put there hand next to my locker. I looked up.
"Please?" Ian pleaded, his chocolate brown eyes filled with sorrow. I sighed.
"Fine. But this is your last chance." He pumped his arm up and down. "But my dress stays on. The whole time."
"Damn." I roll my eyes and laugh slightly. He puts his arms around me and I scream as he lifts me into the air.
"AGH. I. HAVE. TO. TAKE. CARE. OF. OUR. ABSENCES."
"Already did!" Damn he's really sucking up. He put me down and kissed my cheek. I wiped it off.
