Of course Blitz and Hearth wanted their wedding and big and fast as they could get it. Which meant a shit tonne of planning, and even more phone calls than that.
The entire gang were sprawled in Alex's room, arranged around his various pottery wheels. Alex was lying pressed up against my side, his leg flopped over my thigh and my other foot stroking his toes. It's the little things, you know. Also, Alex was screaming into the FaceTime in front of his face, signing below his words.
"Hearthstone! You cannot wear my fucking wedding dress! No! Stop! Okay that does sound pretty coo-STOP TRYING TO BRIBE ME, ASSHOLE. Yes, I know it's your wedding, that's pretty fucking obvious. Can I talk to Blitz? Hey dude. Can you talk to Hearth? He won't take no for an answer. JESUS NOT YOU TOO!! WATCH YOUR LANGUAGE!!! BLITZ, YOUR MOTHER WOULD BE ASHAMED. WASH YOUR MOUTH OUT WITH SOAP YOU LITTLE SHIT." He hurled the phone at the window, where it shattered. "The fuckwad hung up on me."
Mallory sighed from where she was lying on the bed. "I guess brides-to-be get a bit nervous." Halfborn glanced at her, and she flipped him off. "Not like I'd know, Halfborn wouldn't take a hint if it danced the Macarena buck naked in front of his nose, everything flopping around."
"Mal!" TJ admonished, then laughed. Alex snorted.
I reached over and kissed his cheekbone, snaking my arm around his waist. "Can we watch our movie yet, babe?" It was supposed to be our Floor 19 Movie Night, and we'd been messing around for almost an hour.
Alex shrugged. "My vote's always going to be Pirates of the Caribbean." He said. I was, shut up, very much not jealous of Keira Nightley, Alex's longtime crush.
"And I'm always going with Alex." I said. It was always good to be in Alex's good books, especially with Christmas so close around the corner. Speaking of dates... "When's Hearth and Blitz's wedding gonna be?"
Alex glanced up. "As soon as possible. Hearth's getting impossible to handle, and Blitz has vanished from his shop to work on his outfit."
Mal dragged herself off the bed. "Movie night derailed by impromptu wedding planning." She announced. "They're handling clothes, we need to handle guest lists, photography, catering, location, and, och, everything else."
TJ shrugged. "It'll be fun. We'll get Amir to cater, obviously, and Charlie's a bit of an amateur photographer himself, he's so talented-"
"Here we go!" Mal hit his head with a pillow. "Enough gushing, we get it, you have the perfect boyfriend!" She turned to glare at Halfborn again. "Fucking Flam-brain."
"So!" I yelled over the top of their fight. "Charlie does photography, Amir caters, we'll hold the wedding in Valhalla of course-"
"No! What about Hearth and Blitz's mortal friends, they can't come here." Alex interrupted. "And the kids from the shelter will want to come, and Amir, and they can't come to Valhalla."
"Okay, so-"
"The waterfront. We'll hold it at the lake where we put Gunilla to rest." Alex said. He hadn't ever known the daughter of Thor, but he'd heard all about her and payed homage to her sacrifice again and again at the lake, thanking her for keeping me alive. "It's beautiful, and there's lots of memories. And we'll invite all the gods and welcome the ones who come and say meh to the ones that don't because, you know, they're gods. TJ, you make the playlist. Lots of classics, and a couple of interesting ones. I'll talk to the grooms about what song their first dance will be too, and what they'll walk down the aisle to. And I'll even see if Freya will do it. I'll schedule a meeting with Blitz and Hearth tomorrow to go though the details."
Well, I guess that it turned out that my boyfriend was a wedding planner.
Interesting.
