This series centers on the love relationships of the Crisostomo cousins. Sa panahong nai-post ko 'to ay apat na sa seryeng 'to ang nasimulan kong isulat.
1. Kissing Fire
Kissing is usually taken as a sign of affection, adoration, respect, love, or friendship. Pero minsan rin siyang nagamit bilang simbolo ng pagtataksil. Remember Judas' kiss?
Maraming maaaring maging ibig sabihin ang apoy.
Fire could be taken as an element that purifies something. Ang mga silversmiths ay gumagamit ng apoy para sa proseso nang pagre-refine ng silver. Kaya ang apoy ay puwedeng mangahulugang may pagbabagong magaganap.
Nagbibigay din ng ilaw ang apoy, which means it's important in life.
Puwede rin siyang maging simbolo ng maaalab na emosyon tulad ng pag-ibig o 'di naman kaya ay galit.
Fire could also represent an element that could cause destruction. Puwede siyang magdala ng sakit at kamatayan.
2. Holding Water
Holding something may mean that something has been handed to you for you to keep or for you to protect or for you to examine or feel for a while.
Water may mean cleansing (like washing away of sins or guilt) or life (fertility or baptism).
Maaari ring maging simbolo ang tubig (like in the case of oceans) ng mga pagsubok o paglalakbay.
3. Embracing Wind
Ang pagyakap ay tinitingnan bilang uri ng pag-comfort o pagpapakita ng pagmamahal o pagpapahalaga sa isang tao. You hug people you miss, people you forgive, and people you are happy to see.
Wind or air can represent violent human emotions. It can also mean change or discovery or message, and even life/beginnings (in the Bible).
4. Owning Earth
Owning means an act of possession. Puwede siyang pilit na pagmamay-ari o hindi. If the owning was done forcibly, it could be considered another form of tyranny or slavery.
Earth symbolizes abundance, fertility, and nurturing/shelter. Puwede rin siyang maging simbolo ng babae. Minsan ginagawa rin siyang simbolo ng sex.
5. Breaking Ice
When you break something, the connotation is something bad. Pero minsan kapag nasira mo ang isang bagay, minsan ay may magandang epekto din siyang nadudulot.
Ang yelo ay maaaring magpakahulugan ng lamig. Puwede itong simbolo ng walang pag-ibig o mahirap na sitwasyon.
6. Catching Light
Ang panghuhuli ay nangangahulugang may hinahabol ka.
Light is used to show positivity or goodness or enlightenment. Usually, ginagamit siya bilang simbolo ng pag-asa o hindi naman kaya ay direksyon.
7. Awaiting Thunder
Awaiting is roughly translated as "paghihintay" in Tagalog. Kapag naghihintay tayo, minsan may halong kaba o pagkainip. Sometimes we wait with dread. Minsan naman hindi na tayo makapaghintay kasi sobrang excited na tayo na dumating 'yong hinihintay natin.
Ang kidlat ay kadalasang simbolo ng parusa. It may mean something bad is going to happen.
Ang mga kuwento sa Crisostomo series ay may parehong theme ng unrequited love at forced or arranged marriages. It's my number one go-to romance trope.
