Make You Feel My Love

Chapter 7

Chapter 7:-

                      "Ughh.....", Andrew said as he threw a paper ball in the waste basket of his office. It missed and fell to the side. He got up from his chair, groaning and put in it the basket. He was in a bad mood. It had been two days since the dinner date with Aarzoo and the kiss happened. Two highly anxious and frustrating days. He had tried to talk to Aarzoo many times but somehow she managed to avoid him. Also, it didn't help that he had to attend a lot of important meetings in these two days.

                       He didn't know how to get her to talk to him. This wait was testing his patience. He had to confront her today, no matter what, he decided. He had thought about everything, what he wanted to say to her. At first he had doubted if she was worth it, but afterwards he realised that somehow he couldn't let her go so easily. She was definitely worth it and he was going to make sure that they were back to where they were before the kiss happened. With a determined look, he left his office in search of Aarzoo, since it was lunch time, he was going to speak to her right now.

                    "Aarzoo! when are you going to gather your guts and go talk to the guy?, Natalie said exasperatedly, "Stop avoiding him. You were supposed to apologise to him two days back. Why are you delaying it now?" They were currently sitting in a cafe near the office, since it was lunch break. Aarzoo winced slightly at Natalie's words. Even though she didn't like them, they were true.

                    She had absolutely made up her mind two days ago to go apologise to Andrew but when she saw him in office the next day, all her bravado drained from her and she couldn't help but run away from him then, and every other time, he tried to talk with her. She knew that it wasn't Andrew's fault but because of her reaction, she had made him feel that he was the one guilty and not her. It was about time she faced him.

                    Andrew was in luck. Just as he left his office to search for Aarzoo, he saw her leaving the cafe in front of the office building. She was talking with Natalie as they walked back. He didn't want to let go of this opportunity and decided to make the best of it. Both the girls didn't seem to notice him as he went over to them. "Aarzoo," he said finally gaining their attention as he cornered them, "We need to talk," he glanced at Natalie and added, "privately". Taking the hint, Natalie said," I need to go back. Shane said he needed me to discuss something about our project.". She gave a meaningful look to Aarzoo and smiled reassuringly at Andrew as she left, leaving both of them alone.

                    "Aarzoo..." Andrew started to say but he was cut off by Aarzoo. 

                    "Mr. Isaacs, I'm so sorry for what happened that night. I really did not mean to hurt you! It just came as a surprise for me. I wasn't expecting you to kiss me. I  was shocked and I panicked. I shouldn't have done that. I wanted to talk to you before but somehow I was scared. I'm sorry I avoided you for the past two days. I hope you forgive me for all of it.", she said in one breath. Andrew was shocked for a moment. He was the one who was supposed to apologize to her and not the other way around. How had this happened?

                    "Stop! Aarzoo.There is nothing for me to forgive..." he said. He saw her opening her mouth to speak but he held up a hand. "No, let me finish. You need not apologise to me for anything. In fact I should be the one to apologise here. I shouldn't have kissed you like that without  knowing if your feelings for me.  If I had known before that you weren't comfortable about such stuff then I wouldn't have done it. It wasn't right of me to have taken that step with you. So what I would really like to know is , if you would like to forgive me and forget what happened. We could start over again.  What do you say?" Andrew asked with fingers crossed mentally awaiting her reply.

                    Aarzoo was taken by surprise at his words. She took a minute to think over his last few sentences: "If you would like to forgive me and forget what happened." No! She definitely did not want to forget. She recalled the touch of his lips against her own. How he had held her tightly in his arms. How his mouth had moved fiercely over hers trying to devour her in fiery passion. She had liked it. But it had happened too fast... too suddenly. And she had panicked. Then she heard his next sentence: "We could start over again." She immediately relaxed. He really wanted them to give it another try. Happily she said, "Of course, Mr.Isaacs. I would like it very much."

                    A relieved smile spread on Andrew's face as she replied. "It's Andrew now, coffee girl. Please don't call me Mr. Isaacs. You make me feel older then I am.", he said with a grin. "Okay then, Andrew or may I say, Mr. Suit" Aarzoo said teasingly. She looked at her watch and said apologetically, "Sorry , but I really have to get going. Lunch break is over and I have to get back to work."

                    "It's alright coffee girl. See you around. ", he said, and then hesitatingly added "Is it fine if I give you a hug." Surprised by his innocent request she thought, well I at least owe him that much. She laughed at him and gave him a hug.

                    Saying bye, both of them headed their ways with a huge grin on their faces. It felt as if the burden was off their shoulders.

                 "So, I guess all is good with lover boy?", Melissa asked, smirking as Aarzoo walked into their laboratory with big smile on her face. "How did the talk go? Tell me what happened after I left?", Natalie asked excitedly as she pulled Aarzoo to a side, away from everyone else, who were giving Natalie, Melissa and her confused looks. "What are you girls talking about?", Zac asked.

                      "I'm gonna make a bold statement here and say that Miss Aarzoo Kashyap is officially in a relationship with Mr. Andrew Isaacs." Natalie said gleefully.

                     "NO!" Aarzoo retaliated, blushing slightly at her outburst. She took a deep breath and calmly continued, "We simply sorted out our misunderstanding and decided to make a fresh start. That does not necessarily mean we are in a relationship now. We are going to try getting to know each other before either of us makes any..." Aarzoo paused searching for the right words, "...drastic moves."

                     "Drastic?" Zac said chuckling to himself, "He kissed you and then you slaped him, didn't you?"

                         Aarzoo's eyes widened at his statement. People who were close to Zac knew full well that there was no point in hiding anything from him. He could spot lies easily in any conversation. Nothing escaped him. "I didn't slap him." Aarzoo replied with a weak smile.

                       "Really?" Zac's piercing blue eyes were fixed on Aarzoo's patiently waiting for whatever stupid explanation she was going to give him. 

                      "Technically... I didn't slap him. I... kinda... hit his chest and pushed him off." Aarzoo felt so ridiculous saying this as she watched Zac, Shane and Lance laugh.

                      "Poor guy. Of all the women in the world he had to fall for you." Zac continued laughing madly as he walked off to his desk. Aarzoo ignored his words and let out a sigh. She felt too embarrassed to argue with him. And after all he wasn't exactly wrong. She could be a very difficult woman have a relationship with. She would have to explain a lot of things about herself to Andrew to prevent any further embarrassing moments.

                       With that conclusion she picked up her lab coat, pushed out all thoughts about Andrew and diligently went to work.
