It was the beginning of December and the boys were now on their way home. It's been a long year and a half; technically it was more like 20 months they have been gone. They were offered to stay a few more months during the tour. The flight from LA to New York was 5 hours long. Their plane trip from New York to Sydney was annoyingly delayed. Being the impatient boys that they are, they didn't want to wait any longer to get home. This lead to them taking another 22+ hour flight and flew into an airport four hours away from Sydney. The 4 tired, cranky, and very annoying boys were now driving from the airport into Sydney.

"Shut up!" Ashton screamed from the third row of the truck. He was trying to post a video onto Keek. You could say he was a bit sleep deprived.

Luke and Michael have been fighting for the past twenty minutes on a movie to watch on the laptop.

"Toy Story!" Luke yelled.

"Frozen!" Michael snapped back.

Neither of them were backing down. The boys enjoyed Disney movies when they weren't watching their favorite TV shows.

"If we're not watching Toy Story, we're watching the first season of How I Met Your Mother." Luke held up the first season in a DVD case.

Michael rolled his eyes and screamed, "NO."

Ashton looked over at Calum annoyed, he had given up on the app.

"Fucking hell." Calum snapped.

Calum was sitting next to Ashton in the back and shook his head. It was obvious he was getting tired of this. He reached over and grabbed the computer from the middle seat, tossing it into the trunk.

"HEY!" The boys both yelled at the same time.

"Thank God." Ashton threw his head back in relief.

"Order up!" Moe, the cook, screamed from the window of the kitchen that looked into the diner.

Katherine walked toward the window, grabbing the plate and walking over to the table next to the front door.

"Double bacon cheeseburger with extra cheese and fries." She said and set it down on the 40 year old's table. She smiled and walked away. Sitting down at the long bar of the diner, she looked over today's receipts.

17 year old Katherine Haze Pierce, former best friend to the well-known band, 5 Seconds of Summer, kept to herself most of the time. Being short and petite never held her back. She excelled in school, worked at the American based diner "Moe's" downtown.

Her friendship with 5SOS was anything but short-lived, but the boys packed up and left her in early March of last year. Abandoning her for 2 years, you could say she was a bit bitter towards the band.

The boys had a thing about goodbyes, they didn't like them. They decided the best decision would be to only tell their families about the American tour. It would be easier to leave. Katherine didn't know what they were now.

Katherine had received a few emails and texts from the boys. Each one of them had sent her something, but as expected, they never kept the conversation going. She had known Calum and Michael since she could walk. They were a trio, making endless memories, just the 3 of them. The trio soon met Ashton and Luke. It was like magic, they all just meshed together so smoothly. Of course they had other friends, but Katherine was with the boys all the time and was their biggest fan. She would be at every band practice, radio interview, and whatever else they did. That's why she was more than ever-so-slightly hurt over them leaving her so abruptly, without a warning.

The first month was the hardest, she couldn't believe that she had to find out from Luke's mom they had left. She spend most of her time moping around, in turn making her late for school and work frequently. She felt incomplete without all four of them. When she saw them on the news and all that, she would ignore it and just block them from her. After a while, Katherine stopped texting and keeping track of them.

Katherine suddenly felt her long curly pony tail being pulled, turning around to reveal her best friend, Melody, standing behind her.

"Hey! C'mon and finish. Chase is having a bonfire on the shore tonight and WE'RE going." She jumped up down and took her apron off.

Melody Mitchell was Katherine's best friend now, and her older brother Robby's girlfriend. She was friends with Melody before the boys had left. Luke, Calum, and Michael all found her quite annoying with her dramatic, partying ways. Melody was good for Katherine, she was there for Katherine in a way the boys and her brother couldn't be.

Katherine laughed slightly and looked down at her calculator.

"Okay, let me just clean up okay? I'll meet you outside." Katherine said softly. There was no point in arguing with Melody tonight, she was exhausted and she had seen a picture on Twitter of the boys.

"That was actually easy." Melody smirked and walked out, leaning against the car.

Katherine, in a hurry, picked up the receipts and put them in the drawer, folding up her apron.

"I'm out, Moe!" she yelled, running outside and looking at Melody. "Okay lets go," she smiled.

"So, what's up with you? Because I know that normal Kat, would have put up a fight with me." Melody smirked, Kat was a pet name that Melody made up.

Katherine laughed and shook her head. "I'm just tired and I could use a distraction. That's all." She nodded.

"Well, this is the perfect thing for that" Melody linked their arms together. "I really want to see you drunk."

Katherine laughed and threw her head back. "No, Mel." This was an obsession with her. For some odd reason, Melody wouldn't quit asking.

"Oh c'mon! I feel like you'll be hilarious. You'll love it." Mel explained.

Katherine shook her head and started to feel her back pocket for her phone, where she always kept it. "Yeah so-"She stopped when she didn't feel her phone. She stopped walking and looked at her best friend.

"I left my phone at the diner." She groaned, "I have to go get it."

"No!" Melody whined letting go of Katherine. She knew Katherine was going to leave. "You did this on purpose."

Katherine shook her head, "No." She smirked, "But I promise you I'll meet you there, and if I'm not there, I promise I'll get drunk with you," Kat promised.

Melody smiled wide, "Okay!" she knew Katherine would come now. "Call me when you're there!" and with that, Melody ran off.

Katherine laughed and shook her head and did jogged back to Moe's. When she arrived, she was looking down. Her shoe became untied. She entered the diner casually, as she always had.

"Moe! I left my-"In the middle of her sentence, she had looked up. Katherine stopped speaking. Instead of Moe standing before her, they were home.

Michael, Luke, Calum, and Ashton sitting and standing against the bar. Katherine gulped.

"My phone..." She croaked.
