I'm awoken by loud knocks on the door.

“What?!” I yell this at whoever is behind that door. “Wake up Beatrice,” Caleb tells me. “I'm up now aren't I?!” He laughs and I stand up. I walk into my closet and I pull out a black T-shirt and a pair of black skinny jeans. I bring them into the bathroom and I hop into my shower.

When I get out, I throw on my bra and panties, then my outfit. I put on my usual makeup: Foundation, Powder, blush, winged eyeliner, mascara, and a nude lip gloss. I throw on my combat boots and I was downstairs. My parents must have left early for work, it's usually like that.

I grab a muffin and I walk out the door. Caleb got a ride by his friend Justin, so I don't have to take him.

When I get to school I see Four with Uriah and Zeke. Uriah is actually really nice and we talk in our classes. I don't talk to Zeke though, and Four, well you know about him.

I walk over to my friends and Christina and Will are making out. All the girls are dating someone except Lynn and I. Christina's dating Will, Marlene's dating Uriah, and Shauna's dating Zeke.

Marlene and Shauna walk over to their boyfriends, so I'm left by myself with Al and Lynn.

“Ew, couples make me sick,” Lynn tells us. I let out a laugh and I smile. We walk into the school and I get to my locker.

All my classes are a blur until English.

“Children,” our teacher announces, “You will be starting a project with a partner. You will be writing a report about a popular topic that you choose.” The partners are on the board. I walk up to the board and I look for my name. I'm with Four. Should I be happy or upset. I don't really know him, so I can't decide.

I walk back to my seat and Four walks back as I'm sitting down. He sits down, then the bell rings.

When I get home I put my bookbag near the door and I walk to my dads office. “What are we cooking for the guests tonight?” “Steak and potatoes, and you can choose the rest.” I nod my head and I walk to the kitchen.

I start to cook for the guests. I only know that the guests are my dads coworker and his son.

Wen the food is almost done, I run upstairs and I slip on some nicer clothes. I put on a nice black dress with sleeves that stops a little above my knee. I curl my hair in loose curls and I throw on a pair of black flats.

I walk downstairs and I see my dad plating the food. My mom is setting the table, and Caleb is playing a video game on the TV. I hear the doorbell ring and I walk to the door. When I open it I'm shocked, it's that man who beat Four, then I look behind him, that's Four.

“Please come and sit down,” I say with a fake smile. The man nods and walks in so Four is still at the door, “Hello Tris,” he says with a smile. I laugh, “Hello Four,” I say.

“Beatrice, this is Marcus and his son,” my father says. I nod. “Marcus starts to speak, “So Beatrice, do you know my son Tobias?” I feel reluctant to answer him. I mid my head and I continue to eat.

When we are done eating we start to talk. I sit in silence until Marcus says something I don't like, “I'm glad to have a son like him after my wife died.” “No you're not!” I yell this at him. “Beatrice,” I hear my mother and father yell. “No! You don't know what he does to his son! He beats him!” “Beatrice, you must be mistaken,” Marcus tells me. “I saw you do it with my ow eyes! And you saw me watching! It sickens me, you sicken me! You don't deserve to be a father!”

I rush up to my room and I start to cry into my pillow. I hear a knock, “Tris?” I wipe away my tears and I walk up and I unlock the door. Four stands there looking at the ground until he notices me. “What do you want? I probably just ruined your life,” I mumble out the last part. “What? You didn't ruin my life, you stood up to my worst nightmare,” he says with a smile. “Why are you stating at me?” “Because you're beautiful and you're brave for doing that,” he says with a smile. I start to blush, “Isn't he going to beat you because I stood up to him?” He nods his head, “But at least someone stood up to him.” I sit on my bed and he sits next to me. “I'm sorry,” is all I say. “Don't be,” the he crashes his lips against mine. I kiss back, and it turns to a full on make out session. I pull back, ending the kiss.

“I'm sorry,” he says as he gets up. “Don't be, I enjoyed it,” I say as I start to blush.

“Bye Beatrice, ” he says with a wink. “Bye Four,” I feel a smile creep across my face.

“Don't call me Four, you know my name now, it's good to hear my name from someone else other than my father.”

“Goodbye Tobias.”
