• December, 1925 •Growing up, Genevieve hadn't heard much of her Aunt Vivienne (Goldstein). Her mother masked each mention of her with other stories and distractions. What Genevieve did pick up was that she was an eccentric woman, different from what she would ever expect. In her earlier life, Aunt Vivienne was some strange force that kept Hannah Burnett from returning to England. Yet, as Genevieve grew older she became more intrigued by the woman's existence.
From what Mrs. Glover told her (from only meeting Vivienne for a few days, once every few years) Vivienne was a nice woman despite being quite odd. She had a fashion that never seemed to come into existence and her way of talking was far from ordinary. Constantly, Mrs. Glover heard such words as Muggle and accio. It was strange and foreign but Mrs. Glover didn't think much of it. After all, Hannah was nothing like her sister, the complete opposite in many ways.
Maybe this was why Genevieve was so curious about the unknown. She came from it in the first place. Plus, meeting Aunt Vivienne was something new and adventurous. Therefore, Genevieve's escape plan included meeting her aunt (in England preferably).
Genevieve thought back to these flittering instances and conversations as she travelled back home. And amongst these calculated schemes, Genevieve thought of earlier that day...
When she saw Credence, Genevieve recalled this strong urge to run from Central Park. That's what she felt comfortable in doing, hiding and finding her own safe place. That's what Credence used to be until she lost that. Or she assumed she lost him. In the end, Credence wasn't a person to trust easily and to him, it appeared as if she had betrayed him openly.
Genevieve didn't know whether she would come back from this.

As Genevieve contemplated it more amongst the safety of her bedroom. With her thoughts roaring with a newly driven motive, the young girl plucked her diary from under her pillow and opened the leather bound book to white, crisp clean pages.
Before she could write, Genevieve had to carefully put her NSPS leaflet to the back so she could easily fill in the page lying beneath it. Allowing her to write:
Plan of escape
Yes, today provided many exciting memories of Henry Shaw Jr and her Father. Yet Genevieve couldn't grow to love the life Victor had given upon a silver platter. It was too shiny... Too neat for Genevieve who desired an adventure. Therefore, she proceeded to scrawl her plan out before her step by step, thinking through each catastrophe and triumph with a hint of a smirk. The devilish and greedy light shined through for only a second, but it was there; lingering in the white noise of Genevieve's mind.
From what she had gathered, Genevieve had been left enough money for a ticket to England (by boat) and a train ticket toward Surrey. Godric's Hollow was what Genevieve recalled, remembering the strange name as she continued to unfold her master scheme.
Despite not having a trauma to force her from her Father's side or a terrible home life. The mere thought of a pretty house, seven children lined in chronological rows of height ascension... A trophy wife? Genevieve couldn't be that. Not when she had dreams generating a concoction of fantasy; her forbidden pleasures...
The only thing that held Genevieve from printing that full stop upon the page was Credence.
The memory of him forced her to close her eyes and remember her fingers through his raven hair. The most prominent scene was his scarred hands twisting against hers, how they pressed together, not joining but only touching. That was the first time she saw him smile; thin lips, teeth and all. It was beautiful and new. And Genevieve loved new and the change.
Just not the change Victor had in store for her.
With that, Genevieve then pressed her pen to the paper, she printed that full stop in blotted ink and signed her life away in that instant.
