• December, 1926 •Genevieve didn't just like New York because it's where she found her courage, her freedom or her pleasures. Genevieve didn't just adore New York because it was effortless and seemed to flow fluidly. Genevieve didn't just come back for Queenie or her Father or Freedom... She came for Gellert Grindlewald.
She remembered clearly meeting the superior wizard. How he so freely used unforgivable spells and drew everyone into his faith. She wasn't a Pureblood but Genevieve desired not to hide, she wanted more and more. Genevieve didn't want to hide. The witch had hidden for a long time. Now, it was her time to aid Grindlewald in his beliefs. She already knew he embodied the Auror Percival Graves and was on the hunt for a dark, magical entity. An Obscurus. Genevieve's job was to gather extra information. Undiluted truth from the Auror Tina Goldstein. However, after hearing of the woman's mistake and how she was fired Genevieve boiled with questions. What could she do now? She knew it would be easy to find Grindlewald, yet just approaching Graves wasn't an option. She didn't know the Auror and Tina would only grow suspicious.
"How is your job at MACUSA?" Genevieve asked Queenie with a mug of hot chocolate sitting in her hands.
"Well, it's not as excitin' as Teenie's. It's just pourin' coffee and assistin' with small jobs; nothin' too big" Queenie informed before taking a sip of her warm drink.
"It's MACUSA, what could be more interesting?",
"I suppose, but after Teenie was laid off it doesn't feel as magical, if you get what I mean" the Ligilimens said.
"Of course-" Genevieve began, "- but why exactly was Tina demoted?".
"It's those Second Salemers.
She heard the leader, Mary Lou Barebone, was hurtin' that poor boy -Credence-. She said she seemed to hate him most. So like Teenie normally does, she ran in impulsively to one of their meetings and exposed magic to the No-majs" Queenie explained with a eccentric lightness to her voice. It was strange. When you heard her talk it felt like you were floating amongst nothingness."Sounds serious" Genevieve mumbled with a stab of pain.
"You know, I saw the boy in your head... People are easier to read when they're hurtin' you know",
"I'm not hurting Queenie" Genevieve reassured.
"Are you sure-",
"I'm fine...-" Genevieve rushed out with a seething, repressed frustration; that is before she calmed herself and continued, "- I think I'm going to have a nap. Wake me up in a few hours".
"Of course... Have a nice sleep".

Tina and Newt dragged Jacob tiredly up the stairs while the Murtlap bite seemed to take a toll on the plump man. They had just about squeezed by Miss Esposito and managed to reach the apartment. Tina wasn't allowed men inside the complex yet, for the greater good, she broke these rules and opened the door to apartment 6B.
Inside there, Jacob was taken aback by the floating laundry which remained close by to the fireplace. Meanwhile, Genevieve was just waking from her slumber as Queenie changed into her work clothes meant for the next day (something she hoped Abernathy wouldn't notice).
Music played subtly around them as Tina slammed the door closed and Jacob moaned in confusion and nausea. But at the sight of magic, he laughed to dispel himself from this dream.
In this moment, Genevieve finally appeared behind Queenie as she bit her lip at the sight of the No-maj. Genevieve couldn't believe Tina had the audacity to bring it into the apartment, despite her being infatuated with one once upon a time.
