December, 1926

To keep tabs on her cousins, Genevieve waited patiently in the waiting area of MACUSA after paying a sickle for her wand to be polished. In her eyes, it was far too expensive but that fact was forgotten once Genevieve saw Queenie; she was chasing after another wizard who was holding a certain Muggle tightly in his grip.

By the time Genevieve had pushed through the crowd, she had approached Queenie and Jacob (who Queenie had just freed from Auror's custody).

"Aren't you gonna obliviate me?" the Muggle asked, his face full of confusion as Genevieve fell into step with Queenie. When she saw the flicker of her cousin's eyes, she knew Queenie acknowledged her presence.

"Of course not, you're one of us now" Queenie reassured the Muggle before she linked arms with Genevieve and walked them further into MACUSA.

Genevieve knew by then, that she would gather some tremendous information for Grindlewald as she followed her cousin.

As they all travelled to Percival's office, Queenie announced what happened. She explained hearing the sobbing of Tina as she was guided to her execution and she didn't forget to add how pressed for time the three were. After all, Queenie feared nothing more than being alone. Therefore, once they reached the Auror's office, Queenie attempted every fancy spell she could until the Muggle finally offered his strength to break down the door. In all honesty, Genevieve was expecting Jacob to bounce back like a ball once he made contact with the wall. However, he defied what she thought as the door came to a loud opening, ultimately allowing Queenie to collect Newt and Tina's wands, along with his briefcase. (The one that held all the beautiful creatures the wizard world had to offer).

From there, Queenie didn't stop to inform Jacob and Genevieve of anything else before she sprinted further and deeper into MACUSA. With each footfall, Genevieve pumped herself forward as she realised what was actually happening. Her cousin, her annoying, smothering, goody-two-shoes of a cousin was going to be executed because of her leader, because of Grindlewald. Yet, Genevieve was hardly focusing on family while she once again thought selfishly. Wasn't she allowed to now? No longer did Genevieve want to sacrifice her time for other people. But did that compare to sacrificing a life for her own?

Sadly, Genevieve couldn't contemplate her situation further once she, Queenie and the Muggle nearly bumped into Newt and Tina. She didn't have time to think, only act.

"Get in" Queenie announced immediately as she held out the case.

In unison, the wizards and Muggle nodded before Queenie placed down the bag, allowing them to step inside.

Once Genevieve's head dipped into the briefcase, she realised that she wasn't descending into darkness. Instead, the ladder led into a small cabin which Newt hastily left to reveal a small world of magical beasts. They all roared and ran across the ground with a universal glee. Even if she was a dark wizard
-which didn't tend to admire beasts- Genevieve couldn't help but capture the beauty in each creature.

"I'm so glad they're all here" Newt chuckled as he ran back from who-knows-where to where Genevieve and Tina continued to look on in awe around them.

"What is this place?" Genevieve asked unconsciously before turning her head to acknowledge Newt.

"This is a sanctuary for magical creatures. I've been looking after them and trying to educate my fellow wizards on them" Newt proceeded to explain as he waved for Genevieve and Tina to follow behind him. Newt Scamander wanted to show them every inch of the case while Queenie found a safe place to rest the four.

In time, Queenie managed to chase off Abernathy and apperate to the roof of a building nearby to MACUSA. This was the safest place she could find for the four inside the case to exit in secure area.

When they did, Genevieve relished in the fresh air as nighttime came upon them. In this moment, while Tina spoke to Newt and Jacob to Queenie. Genevieve found it time to check on Credence. It seemed that the witch couldn't be kept too long from the boy. Being apart made the pair ache.

"I think I should be going" Genevieve announced out of the blue, causing all to turn and Tina be suspicious.

"What do you mean? Where have you got to go?... I don't think you process what's going on here, MACUSA is after us" Tina nearly exclaimed as she tried to remain calm.

"I'm a big girl Tina, I can take care of myself",

"Oh yes-" she barked sarcastically,
"- Genevieve Burnett with her unforgivables and Dark Arts. I forgot".

At that, Jacob and Newt quickly flickered their eyes between Genevieve and Tina, finally realising what she said as they understood the black aura surrounding the youngest witch.

"Well, at least I can actually protect myself and am responsible unlike you; who always finds someone to blame except herself".

With that, Genevieve immediately apparated and left the four to lower their heads in disappointment. And they thought she would actually help. How they were mistaken.
