The next day.

Minerva had retreated back to her chambers after her first 2 morning classes, upon arrival she gasped with surprise as she opened the door and found a large deep blue box with a large silver bow placed in-front of her door.  She kneeled down beside the large box and spotted a rather small envelope placed beside the bow.  She smiled to herself as she immediately recognized the handwriting on the note as Albus', growing excited she quickly reached for the envelope and flipped up the flap pulling the neatly folded parchment out.

Dearest Minnie,

I promised you a surprise and I hope this adequate enough, I do hope you will wear it on our date this evening as it will prove most suitable.

      All my love, Albus

Minerva let out a little huff of air as her heart swelled with adoration for her new found love. She reached for the box pulling it in front of her, she lifted the lid to reveal a silver mask decorated with emerald stones and silver lace, confused by this she delicately lifted the mask and set it beside her on the floor.  The contents of the box where folded in a white tissue paper, unfolding it she let out a little squeal of happiness. Wasting no time she reached into the box and grasped onto the velvety emerald fabric of a dress pulling it up with her as she rose back to feet.  She basically jogged into her bedroom to stand in front of her floor to ceiling mirror, she pressed the dress to her body admiring it from ever angle.  It was a dark green velvet gown with a swathe back and V-neck draping just below her collar bones, there was a slit in the front on the left leg and silver rhinestones lining the bottom of the dress that sprawled out across the floor.

She was in complete awe, it was indeed the most beautiful piece of clothing she had ever laid eyes on and the fact that Albus picked it out for her made her love it even more.  She walked back to the box and peered inside it one more time, she noticed a black velvet case lying on the bottom of the box. She bent over and picked it up and as she slowly cracked open the top of the case she nearly teared up as she revealed a gorgeous emerald amulet dangling from a fine silver chain.

"AH, I love him..." she said to herself as she bent over to pick the mask back up. Still perplexed by its purpose she paused for a minute to think about what exactly they were going to be doing on their date.     "OH! A MASQURADE BALL!" she screeched practically jumping up and down with excitement.  She looked over to the clock in her living room, 11:20 the clock read. She still had 15 minutes of break left and she wanted to find Albus, surely he would have returned by now from the Ministry.  She gathered all her gifts and delicately placed them back into the box, she swiftly left her chambers and headed for Albus' office.

As she approached the large stone gargoyle she lifted her hands and quietly recited the password "Tabby." The gargoyle slowly began to rotate revealing the winding staircase up into his office. Minerva smiled and ran up the staircase eager to see Albus.  As she opened the door at the top of the stair case she saw Albus standing near the book shelf, she ran over to him and threw her arms around his neck smashing her lips against his. Albus stumbled back and grabbed Minerva's hips pulling her with him as he hit the wall but Minerva kept her lips against his.  After a few moments they pulled away from each other breathlessly, Albus smiled as he stared down into her eyes.  "That was unexpected, I must say my dear." He said with a chuckle, Minerva laid her head on his chest and wrapped her arms around his torso.

"I just couldn't help myself!" She stated slightly muffled by the fabric of his robes.  He smiled and let out another chuckle before hugging her back, resting his cheek on the top her head.  She slowly lifted her head to look him in the eyes once again, as she stared into his glittery sapphires it was if time stood still and it was only them two in the universe. Minerva could easily admit that she was deeply, truly, madly in love with Albus and she couldn't picture life without him anymore.
